I sent the first one back becuase I thought it was defective because I could hear nothing at all when I adjusted the treble control. The second one I received is the same. It seems unlikely that I'd get a second defective one so I can't decide if it's my hearing loss. It's a mystery. Maybe the treble is set at a higher than average place for cymbols? I've never had another product, stereo, amp, foot box, etc. where I could turn a treble knob to extremes and hear nothing.I use it with a beatbuddy. The bass is strong. I turn up the mid because I think that midrange is important to get the snap that occurse in the 1-5K Hz range.

Bought this speaker to pair with my Roland Vdrum kit. This speaker is very disappointing. I cannot handle bass from the bass drum or the floor tom, the mids are muddy, and the highs are very tinny. It doesn't reproduce the sound well AT ALL. Trying to play with a band in my living room and the speaker just distorts. Do not recommend.

i use this amp with my Roland TD-17 drums and am pretty satisfied. note that if you're practicing in an apartment, you'll probably never get near its total output. i don't think i've turned the volume knob beyond 3 since i've had it. good bass output, too, but might want to invest in some powered speakers and a buttkicker if you want the thump without pissing off your neighbors

I have an older Roland kit that sound pretty good through my headphones. But when I play through this amp it sound very different, and not how I like. If it wasn't so very heavy I'd return it but I'd feel guilty if I did. So I'll tweak the controls and try to improve it, then get used to it (it does have very good undistorted bass). I like having separate channels with volume control: my music source in one, the drums in the other. I'm disappointed but since it's just for my practice and not performance I'll work with it.

This amp excels exceptionally well on the low frequencies - which makes it ideal for electronic drums/percussion. I'm using it with an Alesis Command Mesh Kit and it performs admirably. The knobs are made of rubber, with a slight indentation at the top, which was deliberately designed to allow a drum stick head to tweak the volume without having to bend down constantly - brilliant. My only qualm with this amp (like most in this price range) is that you can't use headphones to 'monitor' what you're playing while sound is coming through the speaker itself - it's either in 'headphone' mode or not - which is a shame. My solution (albeit more expensive) was to use the KAT as a monitoring amp with my headphones (utilizing one of the inputs) while using an additional 'bluetooth' capable amp as the music playback source from my iPad Pro.

Best Drum Amp I’ve used. MUCH better than any entry level PA since it’s specifically tuned for e-drums. Bass response is solid but not professional quality by any means. I’m impressed with the mids and highs as well after some adjusting. If you are shopping in the sub 300 range this is equally as good as the Roland 100.

Simple to use, enough power and quality of sound is great for voice, drums and keyboard.
