The unit came unfinished, the oil channels had several burrs on them that would wreak havoc on a person's engine and had to be cleaned out and properly filed. either the solenoid or the oil pressure sensor on the back of the unit where faulty as I could not get continuity on either when testing with a multimeter. After cleaning up the burrs and installing a new gasket my car received the same error code and upon installing a junkyard part from a vehicle that had this part known to be working my car now runs fine. I figured with the price it was too good to be true and unfortunately it is. Not all is lost however if you simply need a new spool valve plunger or actual shell of the unit they're not terribly made if not cleaned up very well. Unfortunately that's the cheapest part to go on this as the sensor and solenoid are the most expensive.

This is a replacement for my 2007 Honda Civic LX. As you can see from the photos there are some slight differences that from my experience during installation, did not affect anything. The electrical connectors on the outside are different. On the OEM part it is turned a bit while on new part it is not. The OEM gasket is significantly thicker than new part as well. Also, it did not come with new bolts like most kits. Just something to keep in mind.But the new part installed just fine with no issues.One more thing to be aware of and keep in mind when doing this repair, you MUST do an oil change after installing new part. It is also a good idea to replace your PCV valve while you’re in that vicinity especially if you’re going to take off coir wiper cowl and metal shroud underneath it to access VVT solenoid.Great value for money. Easy install. Part seems to be well made and durable. Highly recommend.
