One of the holders locking mechanisms broke before I could even use it. Semi held on still so I gave it a go because I didn’t have time to return. Took a fishing pole out half way through the day and the holder fell into the water and was gone. Other one is nice and works well. Frustrating I drilled holes in my kayak for nothing. Just left with the bottom part that is still broken.

This mount is well made and feels like it will last. It was a perfect fit in my rails.

This rod holder is extremely well made. The whole thing feels solid, and all of the moving parts operate smoothly and precisely. It works with baitcasters and spinning reels. You can set your rod in the holder loosely while fishing so you can pull it out easily. You can also lock it in the holder when moving around. It is completely adjustable; it rotates in the base and also pivots up and down. As long as it is mounted well, this rod holder will not fail you. It works perfectly with my kayak track. My one complaint is that the mounting base has two mounting holes, and they are just a little too widely spaced to fit in my 4" tracks. I tried just putting it in the track with one mounting bolt, but it swiveled around and did not seem reliable to me. I am going to have to find a spot where I can put in some longer track, at least 5". The base can also be mounted permanently while still allowing the rest of the holder to be removed as needed and I may go this route instead. I have seen images of kayak track rod holders with just a single mounting bolt, so I know it's possible but perhaps it's not sturdy enough. At any rate, this is a quality holder, and I recommend this for use on any boat.

I really like this. Super simple, but VERY sturdy. Attaches to your track with the provided T bolts, but can also be screwed on to any surface since it's attached through 2 T bolts on a flange on the base. The locking mechanism is simple but effective. It's just a little tab you flip from left to right, pushing an arm in to retain the mount. The tilt is it's own small thumb screw, and is easy to use. Last but certainly not least is the rod retention strap. The bar that closes over the top of the rod to keep it in place. This is by far the most effective, perminent, easy to use, and creative one's I've seen. I've seen rubber straps, and free flowing spinable pieces of plastic, but this one has a ball pin, and can set to different angles. Making it more sturdy and stays where you adjust it no matter what. And is still easy to turn to get it to open.I have no complaints, and think this is a solid rod holder for a boat or kayak. Mountable on bot hard mount to a flat surface, or with available hardware, able to be track mounted on a kayak.I would highly recommend. Great product.

This is a pretty decent pair of rod holders. They work with any rod/reel combo and lock it in when you rotate the lock around the rod. The plastic seems a little cheaper than the brand name equivalents, so I don't know if I would troll with these if there are larger fish in your waters, but for transport and holding a backup rod or two they're great. These are a good deal either way

This rod holder seems well made and has some clever design features, and is reasonably priced. But it turns out to be awkward and unsuitable for my fishing needs. Perhaps good for a kayak, but I troll from a 14' aluminum boat. For years I've used open-style metal rod holders (e.g. LBW). These are fully adjustable, and allow me to grab my spinning rods very quickly from underneath when I have a strike. The Hikeen holders completely cradle the rod from underneath which makes it slower and more awkward to grab a rod with fish on. I also find the rod locking mechanism very awkward to operate. Nor do I need it - I'm unlikely to catch any 20-lb trout nor am I likely to flip my boat over and risk losing a rod.
