The strings have never failed to support my ferrets weight, however his nails shred the fabric quickly. I just purchased a tunnel 2 mos ago before it was shredded to ribbons and I bought this one.

This broke after a few days of use with my guinea pigs. It was super inexpensive and worked well until it broke, I will be attempting to sew or reinforce the broken strap.

Product is NOT the brand advertised. Only comes in colours navy blue, grey, red, brown, tan and dark green. This is NOT KAYTEE Brand and will not come in the bright colours shown. If you don't mind darker colours then that is fine, but do not expect the colours shown.

I have bought several beds for my rats in the past - the most I had issues with for those were the rats chewing the straps on them so I'd have to tie them up to the cage. However, their beds (always fleece) remained intact and not chewed. This bed didn't even last a full 24 hours before my rats chewed not only the straps, but the bed as well. It is a cheap, thin material. Stick with fleece if you have rats. This bed may be fine for other critters, but I'd advise against it for rat owners.

they love it. i have washed it a few times and it's still holding up. it is made of a better quality umbrella type fabric and they haven't made any holes in it yet. we have 4 rats and they all pile in it to sleep. it's very cute to see them do that. i don't leave it in their cage all the time because they destroy everything. we cycle in different toys and things to keep them entertained. i would recommend this item and i would buy it over again.

Very lightweight fabric, OK for the price but not exceptional, my chinchilla chewed through the straps pretty quickly. Might be more suitable for other small animals that don't chew.

I've bought my rat almost every toy, every bed, every chew thing out there and every single one he completely ignores, and if it's a bed, he shreds it. I got this because I figured it was cheap and worth a try! And boy, I'm glad that I did. He sits in this thing all the time! Sometimes I have to take it out because he gets too lazy :)The only problem would be if you had your mind set on one of the designs shown in the pictures, you might not get it. I was interested in the red because it would match his cage, but I instead got dark brown with blue polka dots. The design really doesn't matter anyway, though, because you mainly only see the inner part of the hammock.I've washed it tons of times in the washing machine and stuck it in the dryer without any trouble (it does make loud noises, from the metal attachment hooks banging against the walls, but they turn out fine.) My rat is very heavy, and the hammock is quite durable and doesn't slid around or fall. Also, it doesn't take up much space in the cage because it's hanging rather than in a corner in his bedding.Overall, I reccommend this to anyone with a rat :)

I just got this in today, and I rather like it! Mine came in brown with little green polka dots which looks cute. I put it in my ferrets cage and it's a tad larger than the other ones I've had. Which is great because my little girl likes to stretch out. :) She was so excited that she saw me putting in a new bed in her cage she bounced from the other end of the room and crawled in her cage and passed out in it.Overall, you get what you pay for. It's a great little item, clasps are a little cheap, but the fabric is pretty sturdy.
