As a fan of the previous model, these are very similar in fit and design. Biggest changes are the PU outsole/midsole which is firmer and more durable but takes longer to break in. Traction is good and the new construction means no glue to come undone like in the past. One thing to keep in mind is these do feel heavier than the previous model with am equivalent increase in support, and the sizing is a little large, 14 in these is almost exactly the same as a 15 in the Targhee 3.

To be honest, I wear boots almost 100% of the time and I wasn’t sure about ordering low top footwear. These kids are much more comfortable than I ever imagined. It’s wonderful to have a pair of shoes that are not boots. These have been great for hiking as well as more casual outings. Look great and feel great.
