It was never my intention to get back into porting heads at this time. But I received a KEENTECH square edged cylinder burr and tried it on an iron head. That one was great to use, but it left “steps” in the ports. In my mind, the ports needed t be blended, even though it will be a few days short of forever before the heads get bolted on an engine.Fast forward a couple months, and I suddenly have a KEENTECH rounded Tree Burr to use. I spent the time to blend in the ports I had already massacred, sorry, MASSAGED with the KEENTECH cylinder burr. It was a quick and dirty job. Even using an underpowered electric die grinder, it felt effortless. The points on this burr were razor sharp coming out of the box and after blending a few ports, they were still as sharp as new. Honestly, I don’t feel that I pushed this burr anywhere near the limit.I have a toolbox drawerful of burrs that were cheaper and died an early death. I also have burrs in a felt lined case that cost more, some MUCH more, and this burr resides next to its sister in that case, because they earned it. Paying more does NOT mean I got better bits than these.I gave this burr 5 stars. It was sharp and easy to use. I feel the price belies the fact that this is a superior bit. The barrel shaped burr and this tree shaped burr make a great one-two punch for cast iron.

The first thing I noticed about this rotary file is its solid construction. The tungsten carbide material is known for its extreme hardness and durability, making it an excellent choice for heavy-duty applications. The 1/4” shank ensures a secure fit in most die grinders, and the double-cut cylinder shape provides efficient and fast material removal. The SB-5 Cutting Burrs come with a storage case, which is a great addition for anyone who wants to keep their tools organized and protected. The case is sturdy and has enough space to store multiple burrs, making it easy to carry and transport. In terms of performance, this rotary file did not disappoint. I used it to grind and shape a hard metal part, and it cut through the material like butter. The double-cut cylinder shape provided a smooth and consistent cut, and the tungsten carbide material maintained its sharpness throughout the entire process. One thing to note is that this rotary file is designed for hard metals, so it may not be suitable for softer materials like wood or plastic. However, for anyone working with hard metals, this tool is a must-have.

This Keentech SA-5 rotary burr is an effective tool for quickly removing material and leaving a reasonably smooth finish. It is ground with a double-cut edge profile making it suitable for use on harder metals, particularly when cleaning up contours. The brazing looks excellent, which is a nice change from some of the other inexpensive tooling that I have received recently from this part of the world (which happens to make lots of excellent products too!). Honestly, if there is one thing that I want done right that would be it. Having a carbide tool come apart at high speed is a *very* negative experience. When used with a die grinder, the style of bit makes quick work of most jobs. The flute design enables clearing of chips effectively - making eye protection/PPE mandatory. I've only used this bit once so far to clean up the edges of a rough hole in some mild steel that I was welding. It did an excellent job of cleaning and truing up the surface. I did not notice chips or damage to the bit, but I do know how to use these tools at the correct RPM and feed pressure. Overall, I would say this did a good job as expected. The SA-5 designation indicates type and specifications of a rotary Burr. I won't bore you with a bunch of answer information, but be aware that this bit only cuts on the radius, and not on the tip. If you need one that does cut on the tip, you need an SB-5.Value: IMO, this bit is priced near the top of the range for this type of tooling. You can find the same style of bit in a set that will have a per-unit cost significantly less than just buying a single bit. If you only need one of these, this could be the most reasonable way to find it. If not, perhaps check out the sets that this and other vendors offer. I should point out that there is a substantial range of quality and capability for these bits. In my experience, none of the (offshore) carbide burrs I have used perform exceptionally - but there's an obvious trade-off between cost and capability. You will need to decide how/where that value proposition lands!Bottom line: It is hard to beat a good carbide Burr for cleaning up edges, chamfering a hole, etc. This bit appears to be high quality and I am looking forward to using it for my projects. I consider it to be a fair value for the capability the product delivers.

If you think this is another rotary tool bit, you'd be mistaken. This is a pretty beefy die grinder bit, and the first indication of that was that it was packaged in a router bit type case. It has a 1/4" shank which is appropriate, and a 1" x 1/2" cutting area. It's made from tungsten, and says it has an "up to 94 hardness". That's way up there, and I don't have any way to verify that. But it's definitely a quality bit, and they claim it lasts up to 8x longer as a result. For the price, this is a great bit. It tears away material rapidly, and shows next to no wear after working on PVC, wood and steel. I wouldn't substitute this for a grinder disc or wheel, but when you need to shape something, or access a tough to reach area and grind away material or burrs, it works very well. I'm highly satisfied with this.
