About this item

  • 73% UV Protection: Provides coverage to the vulnerable eye area from pests, reducing the chances of weeping eyes and infections caused by flies, while also providing 73% UV Protection to shield vision from sun and glares.
  • Breathable: 78% air permeable mesh means that your horse's skin can still breathe - lessening the chances of skin funk caused by lack of circulation.
  • Soft Ear Coverings: Keep the bugs away from those delicate ears, too - these covers are soft and comfortable, while being easy to put on.
  • Forelock Opening: Protect those precious hairs with the forelock hole, which reduces rubbing and breakage.
  • Removable Nose Piece: Have a horse with a pink nose? If they hate sunblock, you can provide sun protection with the removable nose piece - and if you're using the mask outside of sunburn season, it's a piece of cake to remove!

Kensington’s fly mask with web trimming and removable nose piece is a great addition to your summer fly protection line up. The Textilene mesh keeps the flies away, is 73% UV resistant, and 78% air permeable. This mask features a double locking hook and loop closure to ensure it stays, elastic throat strap for flexibility, and double eye darts for additional eye clearance. The simple, and elegant design is trimmed with webbing, has a removable nose piece and has individual openings for the forelock and each ear.

Always a great product! This one was for a growing filly who gets sunburn on her white nose.

Very happy with this mask. I purchased this mask for my cob who has a very Sun sensitive nose. It’s been great for her to wear at turnout here in Florida - keeps the flies off and the sun exposure to a minimum. She has managed to get the nose guard off a couple times after almost a full season of wear - when that happens it’s usually because the Velcro has become dirty - a little scrubbing and it’s back to being sticky again. The netting has held up extremely well to wash and wear. The color is bold and pretty on my girl. Another plus is that this is one mask that she hasn’t ripped off and left in her paddock a million times. I think in the several months we’ve had it she’s only managed to get it off a couple of times - for my little Houdini, that’s really saying something! It doesn’t have the ear covers, which for me was not a huge deal as honestly, my girl has hairy ears that the flies don’t bother much. Having the open ears also allows me to pull out her long forelock which is always braided and that helps with her comfort as well.

This is the highest quality mask I’ve ever bought. Stays put and is very durable.

Mask was very stiff and rubbed sores on my horses jaw and nose. The nose piece was also rubbing hair off my horses nose. Flies were able to get into the mask. I had to remove the nose piece and finally just threw the mask away. I have a 15 hand Thoroughbred and this mask didn’t help him at all.

These are very sturdy, easy to clean and I have grassburrs & these do not pick up a lot of them.

My boys play hard all day and wear masks almost year round. This is the ONLY brand I don’t have to replace 3-5 times a year. I am constantly picking them up out of the dirt after they rip them off each other and play tug o war with it. Wish I could find ones that have fleece on all the edges.

Our Crystal is a medicine hat pinto who is all white around her eyes and mouth. Because of this she is susceptible to sunburn. She has to wear a flymask year around to protect her from the sun and requires that the flymask extends down to the end of her nose. This creates a situation where the nose of her flymask gets very dirty and has to be changed out regularly. This flymask fit the bill for about six months. However, the constant removal of the nose piece did cause the material around the velcro holding the nose on to tear. But six months of changing it out more than once a week is the best performance we've seen so far.
