I have used these filters for over a year and they work awesome in my Keurig, and just an FYI the water is supposed to turn black because it's charcoal when the charcoal is activated. When you soak it, it activates the charcoal and the water is supposed to turn black. So all of the residue and everything that you see is normal for a charcoal filter. Once you put this in your Keurig it is supposed to filter out all of the toxins and stuff through the charcoal. The charcoal filter does not make the water black that is in your Keurig. I highly recommend these filters because they are wonderful and they make your coffee and tea taste so much better!!!
