Follow these steps on how to replace your Model X key fob battery with ease:

  1. Turn the key fob over (buttons facing down). Look for the small seam where the back cover meets the body.
  2. Use a flathead screwdriver or coin to gently pry open the key fob at the seam by inserting the tool and twisting it.
  3. Carefully lift out the old battery. Insert the new battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Align and snap the key fob halves back together firmly.
  5. Test the key fob by pressing the lock and unlock buttons to ensure it’s working.
