Key replacement for one that I damaged with long fingernails. Has been working fine and have had no problems with. Would buy again.

Since my local hardware store was not willing to cut a blank key that was not their key, I decided to put the new internal part from the Amazon remote into my old remote. Now I have the original key with new parts. I got the instructions from the recommended www sites and printed the instructions. I tried several times but it did not work. I went on You Tube and found a video which showed that I was going to slow. There are timed requirements (within 5 seconds put the key in and out two times). I got the pace down and tried again and it worked great for two original remotes. I decided to put the old parts into the new Amazon remote. I programmed it using the working remote with the original key. I used the new blank key when I could and the cut key when I have to turn the key to the on position. I used the new uncut remote for the last two steps. It worked perfect. I am hoping to talk Home Depot into cutting this remote so I have a spare. Another alternative (without cutting the new key) is to program the new Amazon remote using your original key and just use the Amazon key to remotely open the car door. Why I I happy? I have three remotes that work the car’s locks for under $30 instead of paying Toyoda upwards $400 each for a new remote. Now that I have this knowledge, I would recommend that you replace the battery and reprogram the old remote to be sure that doing this alone will not solve your problem first. Either way I am very happy with the results.

Inexpensive alternative to dealer part and works perfectly. Step by step programming is difficult but armed with a professional scanner, it’s a snap.

These were exactly what we needed for our 2008 Scion xB. While we had plenty of spare keys, we never had an OEM unit and had grown used to manually locking and unlocking the doors. After cutting, the keys fit the doors and ignition perfectly, and programming the fobs took about 30 minutes. Now, we enjoy the convenience of remote locking and unlocking, along with the added ability to activate the panic alarm when needed. This option saved us over $200 and the hassle of spending hours at the dealership, not to mention avoiding the inconvenience of being without transportation. The buttons can be a bit sluggish at times, but overall, it’s a fantastic value. Highly recommended if you’re looking to create spares for your Scion!

For less than $40 I have two replacement keys/fobs vs the over $500 a dealership quoted me for just one set. The programming instructions seemed like a joke but sure enough it works! I know nothing about cars and was able to program them easily.

Original FOB electronics were fine & were able to move these from the old to the new key blank FOBs with no problems. Getting a new key cut using the old key as the template also no problem. However programming the new key does require a locksmith or someone with this know how as it is a methodical series of steps.Since we needed two new keys it was worth going this route and cost.

I was able to program the remote fob for my RAV4 2007 without any issue before cutting the keys. For the transponder, I tried but failed to get the car's ECU to enter the immobilizer programming mode. So I brought the keys to a garage where they could program/cut the keys for a reasonable price. Both keys work perfectly!
