About this item

  • TASTING NOTES: Well-rounded and complex with notes of stone fruit and cocoa.
  • MEDIUM ROAST: Cheeky, bright, precocious. A bright, chocolatey concoction for the smart-thinking, deep-drinking, good-at-their-game-in-the-morning crowd.
  • ROASTED IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS: It’s all deep, dark and delicious, roasted right below the towering Canadian Rocky Mountain peaks. In our facility we only make only one thing: coffee! It's roasted from one ingredient only: green coffee. We don't use preservatives, additives, fillers or flavoring.
  • AROMA: Sweet dried fruit, toasted coconut, and chocolate malt.
  • ALL ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLY SOURCED: Grown in a socially and environmentally responsible way, by farmers with sustainable businesses they can depend on.
  • 100% ARABICA COFFEE: Magic bean? Oh, goodness. From deep, dark & delicious, to lively and bright our beans are generally cultivated at higher elevation and shade grown, for uncompromising quality and taste.
  • RECOMMENDED BREW METHOD: Our Coffee is medium fine grind which is perfect for French Press, Drip, and Pour Over, and Cold Brew

Smooth, savory, seductive. The three sisters are a trio of towering Canadian Rocky Mountains. We pay homage to these powerful peaks with a triple punch of light, medium and dark roasts. Great taste hits new heights.

To begin, Im NOT a paid reviewer of any kind. Just a regular dude trying to be helpful as I rely on reviews alot myself. This coffee is a bit too dark and bitter for me. I grind myself and make espressos daily for decades now. These tasted fresh enough, but not like direct from roastery fresh. Overall, the espresso I made from this Dark Horse lacked density and tasted too bitter. My go-to in a pinch shall remain Lavazza or Illy I suppose.

I love this coffee! It is smooth and delicious. I wanted ground beans but couldn't find them, so I ended up with whole beans, which is just a bit more of a hassle. Nevertheless worth it for this coffee. Delivery was swift.

I hated it the first few times but the flavor grows on you. Very complex flavors. Sometimes smoky and bitter, a few other times delightfully fruity. I mean it changes a lot depending on how you brew it.

I've tried numerous organic and non-organic varities. Three sisters wins, hands down. Preground or whole bean. Just the best.

Simply love the taste and aroma of the bean with AeroPress. It is smooth, full bodies and not acidic. Enjoy the coffee every morning!

I purchased this roast from KH - I've tried their kick ass variety and loved that one. This one is good, but not quite as good as the kick ass one. This one is a better value... so, maybe I'll splurge on KA, but this one is still pretty dang good!!!

I had tried the Kicking Horse Smartass coffee, and I liked the description of Three Sisters coffee. I am looking for organic coffee blends that I can drink without sugar. This was almost there, but had a little too much woodsy taste for my liking. Still it was a good choice, and I drank it all. There seems to be a tendency toward the woodsy roasting process these days, and I'm not loving that, just as I don't like oaky wine. It was certainly milder and smoother than the Smartass coffee. Both coffees were great with cream. I drink organic as often as I can, and that was what attracted me to this brand.

There is something about whole bean coffee that is just another level. As soon as I opened the bag I was hit with an amazing aroma. 1st good sign. Seconds after pouring the water over the fresh grind my whole kitchen smelled incredible. 2nd good sign. My eyes fluttering shut after my first taste 3rd good sign. I love coffee. I love good coffee and believe me I’ve had some good coffee as well as some pretty bad coffee. This falls into the former column. It’s smooth and a little fruity with a definite chocolate finish. I’ve never gotten this brand before so I was a bit trepidatious. I needn’t have been concerned. Wonderful. So far I’ve only made it in a French press but I do have a percolator for larger amounts. I’m sure it will be as lovely using that as it is with the FP Bravo to the roasters. This makes a da** fine cup of coffee. In fact I’m going to go pour another cup.

Excellent coffee but poor customer service from seller. Received one packet of coffee when the description clearly indicates six packets of coffee per order.
