This oil thermometer has great reading to it it will give you the exact temperature for the oil.

I bought this King Kooker thermometer earlier this year to check the temperature of oil while frying.Today I was heating oil to fry schnitzel. I had the thermometer positioned properly with the tip in the oil. The dial read 330°. I started frying the meat and immediately knew something was wrong because the breading started to char almost immediately. After removing the burnt meat the temperature on the dial dropped to 250° and stayed there. Fortunately my wife suggested checking the oil temp with my Kizen meat thermometer. The Kizen thermometer reading was 425°. Please bear in mind that we’ve only used this thermometer two times prior to today. I am so grateful we didn’t have a grease fire. Do not purchase this thermometer.

I purchased this to replace another thermometer that broke. The first thing I did was to calibrate it by measuring the temperature of boiling water, 100 Celsius, and right from the box it was spot on. If it does need adjustment, you can do it easily by turning the dial while holding the nut with a wrench. I've used this several times and so far it has done its job.
