The description says 3-48 thread. This should have set off the alarm bells. Standard thread for 17 caliber is 5-40. They make no adapters for this jag, so you are forced to buy a Kleenbore cleaning kit to be able to use this. I love the design of this jag. I have several Kleenbore jags, but they all use standard threads. Why Kleenbore chose to use a non-standard thread is beyond me. Could it be, they wanted you to buy their cleaning kit? No thanks. I bought a different brand that uses 5-40 threads.

Works great real sturdy don't bend easy has a small thread so make sure ur cleaning rod has same thread
