I have had the K&M 3-legged sax stand for tenor sax for several years and really like it. I now need a stand for alto sax, so I ordered this Saxxy tripod 3-legged stand. Unfortunately, the contact points on this alto sax stand do not work for my saxophone. I am not confident that my instrument sits securely in the stand. In addition, the right arm of the stand rest against the bell keys just below the key guard, making me concerned the bell keys could get eventually damaged when resting on this stand. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the issues until I used it for a gig weeks AFTER the product return window closed.

If you need a sax stand with no peg attachments for doubles then this is the way to go. Packs up super small and is great for traveling. It's half the weight of the hercules stand so it's nice for local gigs as well.

I was looking for a lightweight stand that would fit in my HIscox tenor case. Because the case is compact and tight fitting, the ideal solution was a stand that would fit in the bell of my Selmer Series III. My main concern was that a lightweight stand might not be stable - not a problem with this K&M Saxxy stand. It is a clever product of German engineering and folds neatly after providing great support for my horn. Because it is light and grabs the bell of the horn when in use for stability, it tends to stick to the bell when removing the sax from the stand. I just touch a toe to one of the feet when grabbling my horn and it frees up easily. A very small inconvenience for getting a lightweight stand that fits in my horn. I found it easy to expand for use and fold for storage in the handy soft bag, once I figured out the center leg must be unscrewed almost all the way before pressing the legs under the retaining nut. Now it only takes seconds to set up or put away. They could do better with their instructions - Ikea must have designed them.

It's light, it's got a small footprint. Seems counter-intuitive that it will provide stability for your horn, but it does. I used a "New York pouch" for my neck and mouthpiece, otherwise I'd be able to utilize the fact that the stand folds up into a shape that fits neatly in the bell. K & M is a great designer/manufacturer - everything I've gotten from them is high quality and well thought out. I've taken their stands for alto and tenor all over the U.S. and the world. I love them.

I bought this stand for my Stephanhouser alto and it fits nicely in my bell. It does hold my horn, but it seems to slide slowwwly down and sideways, never falling out but looking precarious. I bought the alternative stand that K&M offers, which also fits inside the alto bell, and it seems much more solid, and is faster to assemble too. Additionally, the problem of the instrument sticking in the stand when picking it up is not as bad on the alternate model. I returned this one and am happy with the alternative. https://www.amazon.com/Stands-M-Alto-Saxophone-Stand-14330-000-55/dp/B00I41UPI4/

Absolut empfehlenswert!

I have the alto saxxy stand as well. These are amazingly strong and the best part is that they fit into the bell of the saxophone for storage. The reason I gave it 4 stars, is because this new tenor one gets stuck to the bell so I have to my put foot on the leg to separate it. Also, I've lost a rubber foot. But it still works just fine and its worth it when I'm carry 2-3 other instruments and peg stands as a woodwind doubler.

I've gone through a number of stands over the years and this is, by far, my favorite.A couple of what I consider it's top selling points: - It's Rock-Solid - I've seen my horn bumped a few times and the firm grip and low center of gravity have kept my horn safe - Super compact - folded it will fit in the bell of your horn - Great for doubling - if you kick it over, one of the legs sticks straight up in the air and acts as a flute/clarinet stand. I wouldn't put a soprano on it though. And now for the cons: - Pricey - you can get a Hamilton Chrome stand that folds down pretty well for less than half the price - Slower to assemble, disassemble than the Hamilton folding stands as well - will only cover one additional instrument - with many other stands you have two pegs for double - not sure about the longevity of the rubber foot covers, but they're ok so far - the stand holds onto your horn so well that you may need to hold the stand down while picking up your horn to separate themDespite the cons, I'm still a huge fan of this stand and recommend it to any saxophonist.
