Easy install and works great

Pretty simple to install, takes a little time, definitely gives you a little bit of power and a little bit of fuel efficiency and a lot of noise. The noise is 70% wanted/throaty, 30% drone from the cabin. The great news is at low gas pedal demand, you get zero additional noise or drone.

Received my package with literally 70% of the parts missing including damaged intake tube (both ends dented)... I'm missing all the hose clamps (except the one on the air filter), all the grommets, all the hardware (such as bolts, split washers and washers). Missing the block off and hood block off.....Amazon doesn't do replacement on this product, you must do a return and repurchase if you want it.Just like any other car guy you have this little excitement because you're doing a little mod to your vehicle but then something like this happens...I'd give this 0 stars if I could, 100% my worst experience so far. But it is what it is.

HP And Torque gains are more than noticeable. This is in a 2017 GC Overland w/ a V6 Gas engine.I gave this 4 stars because it's not fuel friendly anymore. I guzzle the gas much quicker but I also get on it much more. This is not like the K&N Typhoon series; I have one of those in my 2011 Camry SE and I get both fuel efficiency and a very solid HP and throttle response gain.In the Jeep, this throttle response under 3000 RPM is undesirable. I believe it needs a tune to adjust and / or I am going to replace the airflow sensor that is inline. The sensor was tough to remove from the factory intake and think I will go with an OEM Mopar. She is mean now and you can hear the beast sucking in mass airflow; growling when you get on it. If you don't like the growl, it's probably not for you. Personally, I love the growl. I've burned most all jeeps, challengers, and one notable BMW M3 off line line and love it. It's just that first half second there is throttle lag. After that, lights out!

So there are a lot of reviews for the Grand Cherokee but not for the Dodge Durango, this is a review for the Durango. So we own a 2017 Durango SXT, one of the main issues we had was when trying to pass someone on a 2 lane highway it would sound like you were almost at redline, but would very slowly pick up speed. Not to mention the engine lag before we even got to that point. Bought this kit on chance because there were no reviews for the Durango. So as far as quality goes, all is well. All seems durable and should last for years. Fitment was a bit tricky. Disassembling the old intake I ran into issues with the breather elbow. Easiest way i found was to take a small jewlers screwdriver (flathead) and pry it in between the pvc elbow and the hose and very slowly and carefully pry and work your way all the way around. If you take your time and shouldnt break the elbow. Once old intake was off, the next small issue I ran into was trying to connect all the fittings for the main pipe. Not a deal breaker by any means but I felt like K&N could have made it a bit longer. I get its meant to fit 2 different vehicles, but it was a bit of a squeeze to get it all connected comfortably and not sitting in the edges. Many other users also claim to have issues with the AC lines, went down to the local lawn and garden and found the rubber hosing for underground sprinklers similar to the diameter of the AC lines, split it, and wrapped it over the AC line to prevent friction and rubbing. Last issue was reinstalling the Mass Airflow Sensor. It is a delicate little beast, and the position of the new grommet maxes out the cables. It is a very snug stretch. When I put it in the first time it fell out during a test run. I liked my finger and wet the Grommet, make sure you push it all the way in. It is a bit of a struggle to get it in all the way. Feels like its maxed out...but there is more travel room. As far as gas milage goes, other reviews seem to hit it on the head, pretty much 2-3 average MPG. That was just an added bonus for us, it really picks up and goes now. Throttle response has vastly improved, you hit the gas and it goes. Fixed ALOT of the lag and slow acceleration. Only real drawback is the sound. It makes it sound amazing and really gutty, but it can be slightly annoying at higher RPMs on the highway. You will find yourself letting off the gas to allow it to downshift just to stop the resonating coming from the engine bay. I can see where it could be too loud for some people and why some hate the noise. All in all, it sounds like a beast, picks up and goes, and improved gas milage. Small fitment issues but nothing crazy and no real deal breakers. I strongly recommend to all V6 Durango owners***Update***Had it for over a year now, no issues with the tight reach for the MAF Sensor. Must have for all V6 Durango owners. Well worth the price.

Have used K&N filters and intake kits in the past and currently have them on my other cars, easy 30 min install, quality parts and directions were good as usual. Can't even tell you have it at idle, nice sound at part throttle/highway, but quite loud at full open throttle, so just a heads up, just seems that the way the engine bay is very open on this model and the redesign of the intake manifold from the 2012-2015 models you get a lot more cabin noise from this intake (Had one on a 2015 and cabin noise was less as it was a much longer tube), if you were wondering why the factory intake has so many baffles and chambers, there you go.Did get a bit better on mileage, about 2mpg highway, but the same city driving. Engine has better midrange power, but otherwise it depends on driving style. Also: the intake tube will rub the A/C line, the line can be pushed downward slightly, but there is not a lot of adjustment, I cut a piece of rubber hose and covered the A/C line, just in case.

I put this into my 2018 Dodge Durango GT. It was a pretty simple install. Like others I had trouble getting the elbow off of the crank case vent tube. I actually destroyed the elbow in the process. I was also not so happy that the aluminum intake tube sat pretty much on the AC lines. The instructions say you should relocate the AC lines, but they do not say how to do that. I just rotated the tube to get it off the AC lines as much as I could and then put a length of nylon hose around the AC line to prevent any abrading that might occur. Once it was installed it and I took my car for a drive the first thing I noticed was that the engine sounded pretty much just like it did before I installed the CAI. Then I stepped on the accelerator and it turned my V-6 into a throaty V-8! Secondly, the power was noticeable. At least I want to say it was noticeable. If you are pushing 300 ponies, I don't think you are going to notice another 11 all that much. Either way, it did not decrease my horsepower. It would be impossible to decrease the horsepower, if you look at the factory intake it is rife with plenums, chambers, twists, turns, and restrictions. Which is another thing that this CAI does is that it cleans up the engine compartment a lot. The factory intake is enormous. The filter that comes with this CAI is the largest that I have ever encountered. It definitely opens up the intake of my Durango. I love the K&N CAI. It sounds great. It looks great. And it gives me all the power my Durango has to offer.
