This fits my Kohler Courage 19 just about as well as possible. Even though it is the correct Kohler number, the design has changed slightly from when mine was new 10 years ago. On top of the starter near the gear, there is a plastic tab that I assume allows for alignment on certain engines. On mine, as well as other proper Kohler engines others have noted, this tab does not allow it to fit properly. I simply took a cut off wheel and cut it right off. The factory starter did not have this tab, and without it, it fits perfectly. Now my mower starts smooth again.
