It been 5 days and I dropped it on accident and the plastic black caps for the lock and back of the lock broke. It doesn't impact the locking system it is higher security and thicker than my old lock, but now it just looks off. I super glued them back on but they still have cracks. I would expect for a $100 plus lock to at least have a more durable outer shell. The older lock I was replacing for this lock caps didn't break of for about 5 years.

Das Schloss ist sehr stabil gebaut und weißt eine ordentliche Verarbeitungsqualität auf. Mit 1,5 kg ist es kein Leichtgewicht. Den gängigen Aufbruchsmöglichkeiten sollte es aufgrund der massiven Bauweise stand halten. Die Halterung ist sehr funktional und das Schloss hat darin ein sehr guten Halt. Es wackelt und klappert nichts.Mit den orangefarbenen Akzenten sieht das Schloss sehr gut aus.Bei einem Preis von knapp 74€ kann man nicht viel falsch machen.

Ça gagne du temps car les voleurs choisiront une proie plus facile que Ça. Le poid témoigne de sa résistance eet son revêtemwnt de caoutchou protège son utilisation pour nos vélos. C'est parfait

This thing is a beast. I can't even begin to think about how a thief would get through it but I don't think it would be possible to do a snatch and grab. They'd probably have to spend quite a bit of time to cut through it with a powerful diamond circular saw. It does have limited reach and would be nearly impossible to lock up two bikes with it, but for one bike it is fantastic. I supplement it with a thick cable that I can loop through the front wheel as this cannot reach both wheels.

This folding lock is super beefed up to heighten security. I don't doubt that it is more resistant to cutting attacks than regular folding locks, but it is also much bigger and very heavy - which takes away the benefits of a folding lock. Abus has a super beefy folding lock like this, but it is still vulnerable to bolt splitters. This lock is new enough that is hasn't been tested, but I haven't seen anything to suggest this one would resist any better — it seems to be an inescapable vulnerability of folding locks. For the weight and cost of this one, a good u-lock or chain will be more secure. If you want the small size and mount-ability of a folding lock, this is not it. I opted to exchange for the 610 folding lock instead.

This lock works great! I added this to my e-bike for out of sight security and it’s large enough to lock around 4” fat tires and a frame rail or pole. A nice mount is included and it’s literally a “snap” to use! Kriptonite makes premium locks and their reputation is certainly valid with locks like this one. Highly recommended 5⭐️

Very rigid and study, set-up on the bike wasn't coo complicated, taking out the key is a bit hard but by no means too hard to avoid buying it. Might be a good purchase for the price.

After two months of daily use at Stanford University, a reputed hotbed of bike theft, I give this lock two thumbs up. Very easy to use, very easy to carry securely, and seems to be a serious deterrent to theft. (I also bought a year of bike lock insurance from Kryptonite.) My only qualm is that it's not very large (although perhaps as large as a standard U-lock), so your bike frame has to be quite close to the (necessarily small diameter) rack/post/tree in order to close the lock.

The lock seems very solid and strong and the holder is excellent; however, the lock has one annoyingly dumb (in my opinion) feature: there's a spring in the lock mechanism that forces you to hold the key in the turned position in order to unclasp the lock. You ideally need three hands to unclasp the lock: one to hold the lock head, a second to hold the key in the turned position, and a third to pull the end bar out of the lock head. Since I only have two hands, in practice I use one hand to hold the lock head, the other to hold the key in the turned position, and then I let the bar end fall out of the lock. Dumb. But to unclasp the lock to remove it when it's actually securing the bike to a rack, I have to employ an extra bit of dexterity to unclasp the lock. Dumber. I wonder if the comparable ABUS or Foldylock locks have this "feature."The lock has a sliding cover to protect the opening from the elements, but it's not automated: you need to remember to slide the cover over the keyhole.Update: The ABUS 6500 and the Foldylock don't have the annoying feature. However, the Kryptonite has one other very useful feature: both sides of the head where the links extend swivel, which gives this lock more flexibility than the others, which swivel only on one end. The ABUS is particularly ungainly.
