Arrived fine. Looks great. Installed great. But the shaft wobbles. This causes the dwell to change. So unless u set dwell in the middle of your spec..... Ur going to timing that's all over the place. Also. When vacc is present... The timing does not advance. My motor runs but I have a dead spot like I'm running a 009 but it's worse cuz the gap changed due to the wobble.

Distributor drive/rotor is clocked 90° CCW from OEM VW distributors. Not sure Why? To use, you have to rearrange the sparkplug wires. Plus, there is not a notch for #1 TDC. Since it is off 90° CCW, the rotor points to the 2 o'clock position instead of the 5 o'clock position. I'm sure it would work but makes no sense to deviate from OEM orientation and cause the installer to redo the sparkplug wires.

No issues. Really smoothed out the driving. Be sure and check your gap on the points mine needed to be opened some. I saw one review complaining about moving the wires and TDC not being marked. Mine had both marks, one for forward orientation and the TDC mark. Also you literally have to move the wires counter clock wise one notch. Probably has to do with the vacuum canister being in the way of where the points set. They are all made this way. Meh.

Decent distributor. Only week point is the vacuum canister. Mine failed after 30min of driving. I saw another guy here who said he took it apart and sealed it. So i did the same. Put a small slit in the edge then carefully pryed it open with a small flat head. The diaphragm was fine. I them put a layer of silicone sealed all around the diameter of the diaphragm and some in the middle of it. Closed it back up. And its been working perfectly ever since

Purchased this, with a cheap electronic ignition module. 1200 miles so far and no problems. Installed on a 1979 vw type 4engine westfalia.
