The KYB MonoMax is a heavy duty monotube shock absorber that provides the most handling, control and durability of any KYB shock; and it’s just for trucks. The MonoMax’s tough design automatically adjusts to driving conditions with fade-free performance. The KYB MonoMax has an outstanding reputation for vehicles that do real work, go off-road, tow a trailer or haul heavy loads. It uses a work-ready, zinc-coated steel piston ring and includes an off-road dust boot.

I read reviews of people saying they had to change bushings/bolts etc, didnt fit right, to stiff, etc, so a little worried. But happy to report they fit my 2010 chevy Duramax Dually 3500hd perfect. So my guess is depends on your application. They do say made in mexico on them, but I will take that over made in china any day of the week, lol. So far I like them, I didnt think Id feel or notice a difference but I actually do. My factory shocks were over ten years old now, so yeah, these are great. Only been a week, but thus far happy with them. I bought different part number KYBs for front and rear, and will leave same review for the other set, as other than different ends and size, they are same.

Methodology is important. Follow the manual and you'll spend an hour getting them reset. Install bottom first then align the top. Other than that, not a tough install.

Was a little nervous about buying something like shocks for my Chevy Suburban through Amazon. Not anymore. They arrived exactly as expected with free shipping and 60% cheaper than my local chain parts store. So glad I purchased these for my 2004 Suburban that I just bought in April 2017. They have defintely improved the ride of this big heavy vehicle and leveled out my turns.

I can't express how disappointed I am with the non-existent quality of these shocks. I purchased them to replace the worn factory shocks on our 04' Suburban. I've used KYB on past vehicles with great luck so I figured I couldn't go wrong using these, but was I wrong! They have 9k miles on them (all on road/highway) and their already bad! I started noticing a "thud-thud" noise coming from the driver front of the vehicle when driving low speed on uneven roads. So, I took it to my guy at Les Schwab to have the front end checked, which he said he couldn't find any issues and everything was tight. Possibly being cold outside, it has stiffened up some of the bushings and mounts in the suspension? Ok, so I drive it the rest of the winter dealing with the noise (it drove me nuts, I won't lie). Spring time, then summer rolls around, and I started noticing even more noises coming from every corner of the vehicle. So again, I took it to my guy at Les Schwab to have it looked at. This time around, after looking over the entire suspension front to back (and not finding anything) they pulled the shocks off the vehicle and put some brand new shocks on they had in stock, and we took it for a drive. The "thud-thud" noises were gone! It was smooth and quiet again, just like when we had the OE AC Delco factory shocks on it. We put the KYB's back on because I didn't have the money at the time for new shocks. I've tried calling and emailing KYB numerous times to see if these are warrantied with no luck or response. I am completely disappointed and will never be purchasing another KYB product ever again. I'll be purchasing another set of the AC Delco premium shocks for it and not looking back. The original set lasted 125k miles, so we shouldn't have any issue with them wearing out prematurely. I expected more out of a popular Japanese suspension company, but like everything nowadays, I'm sure their mass produced and they worry more about quanity than quality. I would not recommend using these shocks at all! You'll be in for a disappointment!
