Once I open the box, I noticed this mount has no Kyb logo, instead it has a sigma logo. The look is quite different compared to the pictures shown on Amazon. I double checked the bearing, some grease residual shown on surface, and the bearing has no brand printed whatsoever. Then I checked the box, it printed "Made in India". Everything make sense. Apparently Kyb outsourced the manufacture to an Indian company name "Sigma". I refused to put this piece of crap in my vehicle. Strut replacement is a labor intensive job, I will not use this one since you never know when it will brake again in the short time.

This mount is about 5 mm taller than the original Toyota mount. While it fits, you will not be able to torque the strut top nut because the keyed part to the strut shaft will not engage with the mount. This means the strut shaft will just spin when you go to tighten the top nut (center of the mount / bearing). I only saw 3-4 treads actually engaged on the strut itself. Obviously, this is not what Toyota intended.Interestingly, there seem to be 2 different part numbers for the tC from KYB. This part #SM5638 is widely noted to fit this car, and the other is much more difficult to find and is more expensive. I couldn't find the alternative KYB part easily, so I ordered another manufacturer which fit exactly as it should have. I normally try to stay with OE manufacturers, but KYB let me down this time.
