Habe ich gekauft, weil ich selber Wasabi angepflanzt habe. Aber auch andere feste Pflanzen lassensich sehr gut darauf reiben. Nächstesmal würde ich allerdings die größere Version kaufen.

Works well if you need to make a ginger or garlic paste. If garlic cloves are too small, it will be tricky to use them up without risking your fingers though, but for decently sized ones it is perfect. Can be cleaned by simply putting under running hot water - much easier than a garlic press.

This small, compact grater is perfect for grating ginger easily and quickly! It's also a very high quality material. Only caveat is that the grater points are sharp, making it slightly difficult to clean but otherwise really enjoy this product and would recommend.

This is a handy little thing, and well made. It doesn't slip on the counter top and it works very well. You do have to be a little careful so you don't slice your fingers up too, but that's just common sense. You can peel some of the ginger fibers out right after use and then just rinse it and that's basically all you need to do. I'll put it in the dishwasher when it's ready to run. I discovered that high quality powdered ginger has more of a kick than my fresh grated ginger, which is disappointing. Maybe it depends on the quality of the powdered vs. fresh ginger you can get, or maybe I just need to use a LOT of the fresh ginger to get the same kick, I don't know. I do use a lot of powdered ginger in things because I love the kick. I'll hope the fresh ginger is more medicinal.

This is THE perfect grater for ginger if you want to avoid ending up with clumps of shredded ginger that most graters produce. And the 3.5" size is ideal (grater portion is 1.75") for ginger root. If you're going to grate something that's larger than ginger root, the next size up is probably better. (Don't order the cheap version from a different manufacturer/seller that sort of looks like this one - mine came broken in half and was a piece of junk.) This one is happy going through the dishwasher (top rack) and has a silicon base that prevents it from slipping on countertops.

I had used one of these for years to grate ginger for my morning tea. After years of service, I finally dropped it in the sink and cracked it, which necessitated purchasing a new one. It works great, no pun intended, for grating ginger. I had previously used a Microplane grate, but like how the ginger juice is captured in the bowl. I bet it works well for garlic as well, which I haven't tried.

Pros- Compact and functions well as a grater.- The ceramic teeth are safer than other graters- Raised edges to catch any juice and grated items- Easy to cleanCons- The large sized grater is not as efficient as the ceramic teether are further apart. The Small sized grater has teeth that are closer together, enabling more efficient and fine grating- Relatively easier to break compared to stainless steel graters. Don’t drop it!

Easy to use. Very nice for grinding garlic and ginger. But not so easy to clean. The spikes tend to catch the garlic and finger left overs. Can’t use sponge to clean. Thought it would came with a little cleaning brush, but no brush came along. Overall ok product.

I do a ginger turmeric tea daily with grated ginger and turmeric. I used to use the Microplane rasp grater as I loved it for citrus zest. The problem with the Microplane to grate ginger is that my ginger gets a bit dry overtime for being on the counter. Grating dry-ish ginger flattens the little blades on the Microplane grater, which means eventually it is no longer sharp enough to grate anything (or creates a mush of ginger). With this ceramic grater, it works well even with dried up ginger - I just have to be careful not to grate my skin or nails... It is easy to clean. I use a sponge to wipe off the stain from turmeric and rinse. Every couple of days when I run dish washer I would put it in for a wash. It is still white and sharp after a couple of months of daily use. It is worth the money and the extra space it takes in my drawer!

I love this thing! I came upon it by accident; didn't know I needed it! We love ginger and use it a lot, so I thought it might be a handy little gadget and it got good reviews. Those reviews were right. It's a nice looking little thing so I just keep it on my counter (it's also apparently a conversation piece, lol), which makes it super easy to put a little fresh ginger in my water, my iced tea, make hot tea with it, or ginger ale, add it to any recipe, etc. I love that the little moat catches the juice. It's super easy to clean too, just rinse it off. If you like ginger at all, I'd recommend getting one of these. The little one is just the right size.
