This is the 2nd one I have used. June 2024 ended getting 7.36 inches of rain. Had to change the batteries 3 times in the month. There needs to be a version with D batteries for the ones in a rainy area. I have just ordered a 3rd one because the sender is failing.I have modified the sender to use D batteries. It now sits on top of the D battery case. The 2 wires just feed up thru the base and attach to the battery clips.

Right now it is 6:14 pm and my weather station says that it is 6:12. It has lost four minutes before and I have to keep resetting it. I can live with the guess work of the time, but if the time is off....what else is? I dislike this upgrade. I miss the backlight of the older model.

UPDATE: 10 months later and the windspeed stopped working. Reset/Batt change/clear memory/batteries out for 1 hour. Still had the signal indication for the WS but no display in the house. Took the unit apart, WS is generated by a magnet sweeping past a hall effect sensor on the unit. I tried a few things but ended up giving the sensor a few light taps, WS now working again. Yay!Easy to read display from many angles. Nothing fancy (plain LCD) and not a fake color background. I wanted to monitor windspeed only. This does WS, temp and humidity. Installed the batteries and let them pair sitting next to each other. Then installed the WS unit outside. The display in my computer room is ~100 feet from the outdoor WS unit. The display is surrounded by 3 LED computer monitors, wireless mouse, keyboard, LED lighting and WIFI6 router. Security DVR, WIFI WYZE cameras and other wireless devices. The display ICONs show 100% connections. I have zero issue with receiving weather data from the WS sending unit outside.

It has a very accurate thermometer, and the wind speed is also within the parameters of the monitor.I would have liked to bought the one that has rain measurements, but didn't want to pay more than $100 for one.It might come in handy during hurricane season. I hope not, though.

Got this weather station for my Dad for Christmas, very easy to set up, just had to choose the right place in his yard to put it with easy access for changing batteries (he’s 85, no ladders for him) FYI no batteries are included for first time set up, thankfully we had the sizes needed (AA,C, and AAA) I guess I didn’t read the package to see if it needed them or I would have had them with his gift.Great weather station so far.

the outside sensor is not waterthight so after the first rainy day and it happens 10 days after installation, it start to show wrong temperature (+9 instead of +1 Celsius ) the humidity show 99% and the wind sensor show between 10 and 15 miles per hour, but there is no wind out there. at lacrosse technology, they reply with the same song….battery is no 1 issue, very good service thank you

Turned out to be a terribly unreliable device. It actually worked well for about 3 months before the station began losing connection to the remote device every time there was a rapid temperature change. In other words, exactly when you need it the most. Many times when the link reestablished, the wind speed indication was off by a factor of ten. Normally wind speeds of 111 mph would be a cause for worry but, once you realize that reading no longer means anything, you ignore it. Likewise, the "feels like" indication is just as meaningless since mine, when it's working at all, shows 25% humidity....in a poring rain. Wish I could give it a rating of zero stars but I'll have to be happy with one.Update - three days later. Remote readings finally stopped working altogether and battery replacements did not correct the issue. Into the trash with it. Absolutely infuriated that I spent 20 dollars a month to be able to see outside temperature and wind speed - something I can get for nothing from a free phone app. Lesson learned.

works as described. Easy set up and installation. A great product for the price. Have experienced no problems with the weather station so far and have been using it for 3 months now. Using rechargeable energizers ( C ) and ( AA ) in it also with no issues. Very happy with the purchase.
