It looks okay on the mantel. I wish the hands were a different color, they are hard to see aganist the gears of the same color. The wooden stand could be prettier. I may have a new, real wood stand made for it.

I was very upset when this just stopped working. I absolutely loved the look of this clock. I thought it may have been the battery, replaced, and nothing won't work.

I really like this clock, the natural wood matched with the black paint, and the copper undertone of the gears is very beautiful. I enjoy just watching the gears turn. At first, my family thought the clock was broken because they would set the time and only the gears turned. I then realized they only put in 2 batteries and forgot the 3rd battery that controls the clock mechanism. This would also make a great wedding gift since I consider it to be both home decor and a clock.

I absolutely love this beautiful clock. It is so unique with the moving cogs and the removable stand. The wood grain looks nice, and the movement is smooth. It is not too heavy despite the size. I would say it is slightly pricey but worth it due to the flexibility of having a wall clock or a mantle clock, plus the gorgeous, unique design.

The clock looks stunning. Feels like very good quality, delivery was prompt and packaging was very adequate. It's only been running a few weeks now, so I'm not in a position to comment on It's time keeping quality.Constructive criticism.The battery compartment is incredibly difficult to see as it's black on black. I think that because of this, I initially thought that it didn't work and emailed the supplier.The supplier responded the following working day, which I regard as good service. Before chatting with them, I messed about a bit with the battery configuration, and this seemed to do the trick as the clock then worked.....but like I said, having clearer diagrams in the battery compartment, could've avoided all the above.Secondly, my perception of steampunk design is that this style would benefit from a rustic look. Don't get me wrong, the clock looks amazing, but I feel that, if the cogs were more of a bronze or brass colour, or the cogs had a 'worn metal' type finish, then this would improve the looks further.With those negatives in mind, I still give this product 5 stars. Overall, the quality, the look and the service is excellent, making this product excellent value for money.Thank you Lafocuse for the nice feeling I get everytime I look at this clock
