These work great. The range is perfect for my salt water pool tests. Easy to read.

Found it much easier to read the color chart than aqua chek brand.

I had high hopes for these test strips as I’ve heard they are the best and they test borate levels in closer increments than other strips. First, I tested my tap water to make sure it would show up as zero borate (first test I do with all test strips.) The first two were very light pink and didn’t match any of the colors. So I test a third strip and finally, it turns the dark purple indicating 0 borates. Now the fun starts….testing the pool water. They were impossible to read considering the 50 and 80ppm level colors are almost identical. I am wondering if I just got a bad batch. I’ve had this same issue with the expensive Taylor borate test strips. So far, the only ones that seem even remotely accurate are the Pool Check brand borate test strips. I wasted about 8-10 of these LaMotte strips trying to determine if some strips were bad and some were good (only one was accurate on my tap water out of those 8 strips.) I don’t even think this item is eligible for return. I’m so disappointed as I was really looking forward to using these for testing my newly added borates. I will update this review with photos so you can see how all over the place they are. Buy the Pool Check brand!! They are not perfect but way better than these.

I was thinking about adding Borates to my pool and from what I read this was a good test for that. I needed to know how much borate was already in the pool before I add any to bring it up to 50 ppm. I discovered after testing that my pool already contained 15 ppm.

The product which tests borax acid in the pool to stabilize chemicals in the pool not provides results but also promotes excellent results resulting from the testing.

There's another brand out there that should be good but they are not. Borate testing is very complex and these strips just give a ballpark. The others just don't do it at all it seems. I got results I expected to see with these.

these arrived with no lid, just the strips and the container floating around in the shipping bag. I have no idea if that makes a difference...like should they be kept in a sealed container??Anyhow have never added any borates to the pool but I got a reading of 15, at least I think I did, as one other reviewer commented its difficult to get a clear reading.Added boric acid today and will test again tomorrow to see how it goes. Based on Poolmath I know what my reading should be tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if the strips are accurateOn the plus side shipping is super fast

doing the BBB method from www.troublefreepool.com and these are the best that i caould find and i just used it, works great as i know i had about 12-24 PPM borate in the pool and the test strip showed 20, im going to bump it up to 40 and i should be good for the rest of summer,
