I have done lots and lots of yard work/landscaping in my time. For smoothing out dirt and either preparing it for seeding or just fixing disturbed dirt I always just used a hard pronged garden rake. I ran across this leveler and thought I'd give it a try. It works great. I've primarily used it in heavy dirt. I found it works really well for fixing the ground I tear up with the tracks on the skid steer. It makes much quicker work of it than the old rake. I haven't needed to yet, but if it will work in heavy soil clumped up by moisture and skid steer antics, it will do wonders in sand or lighter dirt.It has not flipped over on me a single time. I am really glad I found this and look forward to more projects with it in the future.

Easy to assemble and use. This is going to make leveling out our lawn so much easier. Quality/ functionality make this worth the cost.

I have used the original without the pneumatic spring to hold it in place and one of the worst things that it would do is roll. This design is way better was sturdier and doesn’t flip like the old one. If you have patience, the original isn’t horrible. It just does flip over as you were trying to use it, but this one solves that issue.Thank you, Landzie for fixing this issue.

The Landzie leveling rake combined with the Landzie compost spreader are both high quality and save lots of time and effort.

I needed to do some lawn work and I had been looking at different leveling rakes. I was going to buy a different brand rake that was smaller in size but I was talked out of it and thankfully I waited because then I happened to see this Landzie leveling rake. It was the first time I had seen one that incorporated a gas strut to keep the rake from flipping. I thought that was a great idea so I ordered one.So far I haven't had any issues with this rake. It moved the dirt well for me and the strut did its job. Definitely glad I didn't order one smaller than 36", the job would have taken me a lot longer to finish. I might even be able to get by using a larger rake but I have elbow problems and weight might become an issue. The 36" rake worked fine for me. It did the job much easier and faster than my old leveling method, plus the end result was better as well.

This is a SERIOUS leveler! It has a massive width, and while it can be cumbersome, it covers a lot more ground at once than any other I've tried.Assembly was a bit frustrating, as the instructions aren't clear about which pieces are which, and it doesn't come with any of the usual cheapo tools for assembly. Have a socket set, pliers or spanner (to hold one side of a bolt in place while tightening the nut) and drill on-hand. See photos for sizes needed. The overall thing to know is that the handle piece attaches to the two holes on one of the sides (the head is the same on both sides), and once those are on, you can carefully release the pneumatic bit and thread the long bolt through the middle set of holes on one side, then through the hole on the pneumatic arm, then the other side of the middle hole set. It's not easy to hand tighten these - it most definitely takes a power tool. That said, the nuts lock really tightly on, and you're not at risk of wobbling at all.Using this is like other levelers, except it doesn't constantly flip over when I don't want it to. It's far easier to drag than push, and it tackled a decent size pile of a couple bags of topsoil and had them spread out quickly and easily.I notice that there's always a buildup of soil on one edge as it's pulled, so at the end of a series of pulls, I flip it to the side to dump the built up soil. With as heavy as the tool is, it would not be easy to handle that way for some people. The consensus: It's really, really sturdy, the pneumatic arm helps with use and not flipping over, and the width allows more to get done at once.
