Lansky Custom Carrying Case
This carrying case is the same case that comes with all Lansky Controlled-Angle Sharpening Systems, but now you have the opportunity to build your own. Whether you want to buy a pack of curved hones, variety hones or individual hones to build your own kit, this case gives you a convenient place to store them and comes with replacement screws and 1oz of oil to give you a head start. Starting from scratch gives you the opportunity to get the best clamp, hones, and accessories for your specific needs.

Knife Clamp & Rods
Lansky kits usually come with the standard knife clamp, but when you build your own, you have the option of the clamp that works best for you.
Choose between 2 options:
- Standard Knife Clamp
- Soft-Grip Knife Clamp with Dual Thumbscrew
Don't forget to pick up a few guide rods as well as they are a necessary part of the system and are not included with this carrying case.
Hones
Whether you want a case to store your curved blade sharpening hone kit, a premade sampler kit to try different types of hones, or to create a custom sharpening kit with the exact individual hones that you want, Lansky has what you are looking for.
Mounting Base
Although it doesn't come with Lansky Sharpening Systems, a mounting base is extremely helpful and makes the sharpening process much more convenient and stable.

Good case and nice way to keep all my additional Lansky sharpening tools together. Also like the oil to use on my non-diamond stones. Good kit for those who aren't quite ready to jump into full size soak or splash stones.

The new Lansky cases lack the quality of the older blue ones. It's a case and will work but the closure seems flimsy.

It's a box for extra Lansky sharpening hones you might buy.Comes with oil and screws, but given extra hones do not come with struts a few struts in here would have been nice.

This is the EXACT same case that the diamond sharpening set came in. It does come with some oil and a couple of extra screws, which is very nice. I ordered this because I purchased several extra sharpening hones that do not come with the original sets. They fit perfectly in the slots, and now his sharpening hones are organized and protected.As a side note, I received a black case, and not the red one in the photo, which was great for me, as the Lansky kit I ordered also came in a black case. I had initially thought a red case would be good so that we would know which box held which set of hones, but that's okay because now they match (win-win).These boxes are fairly sturdy, although the hinges are just part of the molded plastic. They look like they will wear out very easily and come apart, but we've never had one do that so far.

It's the same box as the one you get your set in.I was in need of a new box as I bought some extra diamond stones and some for serrated knives....this one works great and the extra oil is always welcome.

I needed some extra space for several stones and this fills the bill. It's just like the original case. I also like the oil and extra metal L pieces for the stones.

I've had a standard Lansky sharpening kit for about 30 yrs now, and finally the sharpening oil bottle broke due to age. I had been trying to find a replacement for years, but they are hard to find. Also, I had purchased some of the special serrated sharpening stones and they would not fit in my standard kit. When I saw this, I said "Eureka, this is perfect". Not only can I create a 2nd sharpening kit, but it came with a bottle of honing oil to boot. Best $10 I've ever spent.

This is the same case that currently manufactured Lansky kits are packed in. It includes a bottle of the honing oil. This case is great for holding those extra, seldom used stones (like the serrated stone that you use every 5-10 years).If you're going to get extra stones (above the 5 that fit in the kit box), you should get this case to hold the extra stones.Issues with the case:1. The snaps which hold the rods inside the lid grip waaaay too tight, so the rods bend when you try to extract them from the lid.2. The lid clips onto the case with a cheesy clasp that's a pain to operate.Note that these issues are inherent in this case, which is exactly the same issues as the case which comes with a kit. If you have a kit, you already are aware of these issues. It's just the way Lansky designed the case.
