The "button" is touch sensitive, so it's super easy to find in the dark. I'm actually using these as night-stand lights since their glow is so gentle on the eyes but can also be strong enough to read by on the highest of the three settings. Internal, rechargeable battery works great too!

I was not willing to buy a $100 kryptonite lock for my 70 dollar bicycle. And I was not impressed with an ultra cheap 14 dollar cable lock I had bought (it has a pretty color, a plastic shaft and a thin steel cable that would probably take 5 seconds to cut, no better than nothing.). So I bought the large version of this kastewell u lock and 6 ft cable.I think that the lock is awesome. The U-lock easily fits around most poles and the cable is a good deterrent. THE PROBLEM is that the metal keys are extremely weak, as if they are made with soft lead. They easily bend and break. It comes with two keys, and one of them broke, while the other one is bent, and I don't know how long it will last. So, great product, but the keys are awful.

I'm using this lock through the front wheel of a motorcycle. The u-lock itself is very thick and feels like it would be hard to cut or get through; the cable is also quite robust but I'm not actually using it right now. The plastic holder it comes with seems to be working out as well, I like the idea at least of being able to store the lock right on the bike and not have it bang around, and I'm sure if I had the appropriate bike frame sizes tube to attach it too as intended it would feel more sturdy than it does at the moment. Definitely a good buy for the price though,I think I got the small option for like $17 and it's added great piece of mind when I have to leave the bike parked.

I like that the lock is small and tough. I see that for some bikes it may not fit, but your bike would have to be pretty big for it to not work.

Lock works fine, pretty short, maybe too short, makes locking frequently a hassle. Another inch would make a huge difference. SIlicon finish creates friction when trying to put lock in holder, which I rarely use.

When I first received this package and I felt how heavy this Item was, I wasn't really sure what it was But when I opened the box to see this lock I was Impressed on how Heavy Duty this lock was. It will definitely slow someone down trying to steal your bike, if they even want to bother to try after checking it out. I'd highly recommend this lock! Now when you store the cable I found a way to connect the bracket to the up riser where your seat post sets in. The bracket was to small to fit around the riser on my bike but I had enough room to put it around the riser without breaking it and then I put zip ties through the screw holes along with one under the bracket to support bracket to the riser itself. This helps for when you go to pull the locking post from the bracket It won't slide down. The way I tie the cable is by just wrapping the cable to the cross member about 4 times around and then I put the U-Lock through the eyelets on the cable and this holds the cable on pretty good. I have the U-Lock set up so the bracket is facing the front of the bike, so when you put the U-Lock in the locking post this to is facing the front of the bike. I have not had any problems with the U-Lock and cable interfering with my peddling.I hope this kinda helps people out on how to mount the bracket and attach the cable and lock together.

This is a heavy duty lock. It can be used to secure other stuff and not only Bicycles. The lock is very sturdy and seems to be well constructed.I loved that it’s coated with a matte PVC cover which makes it fancier and resistant to scratches. The steel cable is strong and long enough and made of actual steel. They provide you with 2 keys, which is great since I loose keys all the time. The lock/key set seem like a normal set and mechanism, nothing to complain about here.In conclusion, I think it is a good investment to have the peace of your mind of knowing the bike won’t be stolen when you return.

tldr; The product works decently well given cost. You aren't looking at this bike lock if you are looking for the absolute best product that works the best for the given application. However, you are most likely looking for a U-Lock and were enticed by the cost of this product. So, I will spare the positives since it passes basic functionality and if you can live with the negatives then it is potentially a candidate for purchase. The coating of the U portion of the lock is rubbery and therefore could potentially lead to your skin catching on the lock if you are more person or do not ride with the most pristine form (or simply just position the lock poorly). The bar itself is obviously more sturdy than a chain lock, however if someone is determined to take your bike (given large enough lever, and not that large) its still very doable through the lock. The fitting of the attachment to mount the lock on the bike is a plastic and has a small range of diameters that it can actually work with – so check your bike for applicable locations before purchase. Further, the lock is held on with screws and nuts clamping the plastic through (ironically and hopefully) elastic deformation around the shaft and a rubber piece to add grip since it will deform easily allowing for a tighter connection. However, the entirety of this is held together by the two screws and nuts (as mentioned) and I see this as a critical point of failure given enough jostling or time wear to the point it breaks. Finally, the actual U part of the lock will not fit around a lot a poles due to the inner diameter being small (believe it is mentioned in product description, just noteworthy in purchase consideration since it may not fit your application). In all, thus far I would say the product is satisfactory and meets the basic needs of a U-Lock.
