This mold was exactly what I need to be able to try the “column pour technique” for the first time. I plan on trying the “spin swirl” technique next. Up until this point, I’ve only owned the small/normal sized loaf molds, making about 9 bars at a time. The price of this mold was in my budget, unlike the ones at “soap supply” companies. It’s very sturdy and well constructed. I love that the lid just rests on top of the edges of the base(if that makes sense), so I can still use the lid even if I have a taller soap. When it was time to unmold, the liner came out of the box super easy and the soap came out of the silicone liner like a dream! It was super easy to wash the liner. The liner is very thick and seems durable. This was a satisfied purchase to expand my soap making skills on a budget.

The mold cracked on the bottom after first use. The liner is nice but wood way to thin.

I knew that it was not super strong, upon reading other reviews, prior to purchase. I use it for my shampoo bars and can get 45 bars from this mold. That is time well spent. Just support it well when moving it with that much soap batter in it.

I've purchased a handful of the 282 oz soap molds and have found them all to be of sturdy silicone. The boxes have all come in good, solid condition and end up dying out and cracking apart within a few months (or weeks) which can lead to the bottom of the finished soap not being even. We've solved this by adding another piece of wood to the bottom for reinforcement when this becomes a problem. Over all, I'm happy with this purchase but would prefer better quality wood to not have to fix them when they break.

The soap box is super nice and the fact that there is a lid to the box is a bonus to keep the soap protected from dust/air particles while curing. I use the box differently, such that I do an inch layer of soap and am able to get 15 bars of soap from it (1" thick x 2.25" wide x 4" length bars). The mold in the box can be used in several different ways. The silicone mold is easy to remove from the box but sometimes the soap is difficult to remove from the mold. I would definitely recommend this mold set!
