This leveling rake is very well rounded up. The assembly is pretty easy, the base comes preassembled and all it takes is to fold open. There are three bolts and nuts to do the "harder" part of the assembly. The handles go twisted in very easily. The included hardware is basic, and I assembled it using the included hardware to really assess it, although I was very tempted to go get my tools. If you don't have tools, you can still assemble the unit with the included hardware without any issues.Once assembled, it has some weight to it. It is also very long, the description specifies 6', but it is over 6' and I skipped one of the handle parts. Still, without using the one part, it has a perfect length. The finishing on all the product seems robust, time will tell, but both fabrication and finish all look good.Usability: works great, it just works. Before I used to level soil with a 2x4, and using this rake is a HUGE improvement. I was a bit concerned with the width, at only 30" I felt it was going to be narrow, but it was not the case, it has a decent width to level soil.

This worked great ! very impressed with the quality very sturdy. Really don’t know what the bad reviews are talking about. It came with instructions and is very straightforward to put together. Had extra nuts and bolts in a bag, but that’s exactly what they are extra ,just in case. For the price, you’re not gonna find nothing better.

This tool is definitely heavy. The listing says it's stainless steel but it looks like painted steel to me. The bolts used to keep the leveler flat aren't long enough to engage the nylon lock rings on the nuts they come with. Otherwise assembly is ok. Long term, didn't know how long a multi point threaded handle will hold up to pushing dirt around.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this leveling rake. The quality is impressive! This rake has a significant amount of weight to it and everything is built strong! Assembly took me about 15 minutes, and the inclusion of nylon nuts in the bag was nice to see. On to the pole design, it is brilliant! Every section can be unscrewed, which allows you to make the pole length any length you want. This also allows you to store this rake anywhere! This is great because my shed roof isn't very tall and since the poles unscrew, I can easily store the rake with all my other yard tools. As for how well it works, this is the first leveling rake I have ever used and I was impressed with how quick I had holes filled and leveled in my yard. Not sure how I went so long without it honestly. This will definitely be a nice tool to have in the shed. I highly recommend this leveling rake!

This leveling rake is made from heavy gauge steel and has a tough powder coat finish. It has some nice weight to it which is necessary for leveling. I spread several hundred pounds of sand around my garden area then used this rake to level and smooth it out before making pathways between planting rows. The rake made it so easy! It did a great job and was much faster than using the back of a garden rake. The handle is very long which is also important for leveling. It allows you to drag and push the rake back and forth rather than gouging into the surface you're trying to level or smooth.I have another leveling rake, but it's huge and takes up a lot of space when not in use. I love the size of this rake. It's smaller and can be used in tighter spaces, unlike my other one.I only had one minor issue during assembly, but it wasn't enough of a reason to deduct any stars. After unfolding the base of the rake you install two machine screws and bolts to lock the base in its usable position. On one of the holes, the two flat steel pieces that get bolted together didn't align perfectly so I had to coax the screw into place with a little bit of force. I was concerned that the bottom of the rake wasn't going to perfectly flat because of this, but once everything was tightened up, the working surface was aligned and flat, so it was a non-issue in the end.I highly recommend this rake.

This was my first time using a lawn leveler, and I was curious to see if it could help with the uneven look my mulch often has after being laid. With spring here and new mulch going down, I decided to give it a try—even though the product doesn’t specifically say it’s designed for mulch. It did a decent job, but I found that it only worked well once the mulch had mostly dried. If the mulch was still damp, it tended to clump up and drag instead of spreading evenly. Something to keep in mind if you're planning to use it for the same purpose. One downside is that this tool is quite heavy, which makes it a bit tiring to use over longer periods. Another issue I ran into was with the folding feature. While it's advertised as foldable, in order to actually use the tool, you have to insert two bolts that make it no longer foldable. I find this frustrating—removing bolts every time I want to store it, and then keeping track of them for next use, isn’t practical. A more user-friendly design, like a built-in pin or latch system, would make a big difference. On the positive side, the assembly was very straightforward. I appreciated that the handle came in sections—it allowed me to leave a piece out so I could adjust the height to better suit me, since the full length was a bit too tall. The build quality seems solid and durable, which is reassuring for a tool that’s meant to take on tough yard work.Overall, it’s a well-made tool with some thoughtful features, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the portability and storage design. It did help improve the look of my mulch, so I consider it a useful addition to my gardening tools despite its quirks.
