Product will sharpen a blade but overall process is slow and hard to keep edge consistent. Would probably work best for single blade push mower. The plastic got hot and started melting when sharpening one blade I had.

I use this product to sharpen two rotary mower blades relatively often, 3-4 times a season.First, this is a great value for what’s in the conscientious packaging. Multiple sharpening bits and the useful extras!Second, with some practice these work quickly and efficiently. It’s important to have the mower blade secured in a good vice at a good height because at first it’s a little awkward.Once you get the hang of it it’s a breeze!Third, It takes longer to get the blade off and back on to your mower than it does to sharpen the blade!The instructions are good and helpful.

Opened it up, impressed by the gloves included, stones/guide looked like they would work. This morning tried to use. Seemed to work at first, but it took a while to determine best way to position. Seemed to be sharpening, but the stone worked itself free from the spindle. Tightened the screw, and seemed okay, until it worked loose again, basically stopped grinding, just stayed stationary as drill rotated. Since I was sharpening two blades and was on the third edge, opted to change out stones to see if that would work better. Second and third were worse, could not tighten the loose stones to make it work. Will have to return. I finally pulled out a grinding stone I already had, without a guide, and was able to sharpen the blades much better, with a different body position.

Great for use of fairly new blades that get regular use. If you’re looking to sharpen an old blade that hasn’t been used in years this isn’t going to do much for you.

Originally bought this set for my lawn mower blade. It worked great! I especially appreciate the gloves that came with it and the balancing stand. It worked so well for my lawn mower. I haven't had a cut this clean ever, even when it was brand new.The kit worked so well I even sharpened my old machete with it.My only bit of advice would be wear long sleeves, gloves, and safety glasses. I was wearing a short sleeve shirt and caught some melted plastic on my arm. Ultimately didn't cause an injury, but it's definitely hot!Really a great product for the price and super simple to use.

I watched a few videos on sharpening blades and they didn't seem to give this type of product much credit. They recommended using an angle grinder. I tried that but was having trouble keeping a consistent angle with each pass. And all of the videos stressed the importance of balancing the blade and the need for a proper balancer to do it. So when I got this it I used the grinding wheel to finish what I had started with the grinder. There is a little bit of a learning curve and how to control the tool. I found you can easily grind the blades corners too much when you start a pass going from outside to center of the blade. But I eventually figured it out and it kept a nice consistent angle with each pass. I put the blade on the balancer and kept grinding the heavy side until it was balanced. I mowed my lawn which was the first cut of the season and so it was pretty tall and thick. I have to say, the mower cut like butter and there was absolutely no vibration. So I was pretty impressed with the results and for the price you really can't go wrong.

This is great in concept and the balancer is primarily why I purchased this kit. That works perfectly. The blade grinders are a great concept but I had to tighten the screw on each of the two that I used. I also had to tighten the screw several times during use. Practically, it worked okay but some thread-lock or something to hold the grind stone tighter would have definitely been very helpful!

I have bought other Grizzly products and thought them to be of decent quality. The grinding wheel on the sharpeners is held in place with a simple clip. With any pressure on the wheel, the clip simply slides down the shaft, opening the grinding wheel to the point that it is useless. I made mine to work, but it was a hassle. a $0.01 clip doesn't work for a tool that you need to grind with.
