This is a really well made sheath. I use it on a Kobalt 1.25 lb camp axe, which I keep really sharp, and this helps both to protect the blade from getting dinged up, and to stop the blade from destroying everything it touches. It fits the axe perfectly, looks and feels nice, and the snap is easy to operate and keeps the sheath secure on the axe head. It does exactly what I need it to do.

The sheath is small, as can be seen by the published dimensions, but when you get it, in a small plastic bag with nothing else, it looks pathetic. That said, I wanted a small cover and it seems to be well made. I used it on my Hudson Bay style axe which has a 3 1/2" edge. NOTE: This cover DID NOT fit my axe right out of the bag. I had to soak it in water and then gently stretch the leather and especially the clasp. I was then able to fit it over the axe head. I inserted a temporary shim as shown so the leather would dry correctly sized. Overall, not inexpensive given what you get, but it's what I wanted and I like it.

I needed a sheath for my 20-oz (1.25#, if you prefer...) camp axe that I paid $3.00 for, used. This Tioga sheath looked like a reasonable balance of price & quality. It fits my axe just fine, but the leather's a bit thin for my taste, and there's enough play in the fit that the sheath would prob. pull off the 3.25" (H) edge if it were in with other gear or knocked around a lot. If the axe just sits most of the time, it'll probably be fine. Heavy use in the field? Less certain. Would recommend with some reservations.

I have this old hand ax: Made in china; Good steel; nice maple handle.I lost the cover years ago and have tried various homemade remedies.This cover fit perfectly. Absolutely love this product.

The blade cover has a good snug fit. So, I have no concerns of it falling off. The construction looks good. I would buy this again.
