I used this kit for a small project and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to work with.I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to snaps, but the tools included made the process pretty straightforward. The included instructions are poorly translated. The picture make it fairly easy to follow, but the YouTube videos they point you to are much easier to understand. The included snaps themselves feel solid and have a nice finish- but they’re just the standard snaps you see everywhere. The tool itself definitely doesn’t feel cheap, which was a pleasant surprise. This is likely done for log hr to medium duty use- I don’t know if it wouldHold up to thicker leather or heavy strap material.I also like that the box has a nice foam cutout for storage, so you can keep the box and everything all together.Great little set to have on hand for repairs or small DIYs.

One of my beloved cushions had to be replaced recently. I decided to use a leather material to cover it instead of a softer cotton fabric as previously used. While the idea was great, I didn't realize how difficult it would be to close the last side of the cushion with a needle and thread as the leather is tough to push through. Assessing the situation, I decided that it might be better to use snaps on the one side instead of sewing it Plus I could take out the cushion and wash as needed. This kit comes with everything you need to put snaps on leather including the snap tool, the different pieces of the snap and directions. The leather snap tool is fairly easy to use. I have never used one before, so I followed the directions and had the snaps on the leather (just like the instructions) fairly fast. There are several sets of snaps to choose from and the handheld device fits those as well as others. The hardest part for me was pushing the handles together as needed since I don't have a lot of hand strength. I do have a husband, so he was able to help with that minor issue. Overall, the snaps work great and the placement was perfect. I'm really happy about this kit and will be using it again in the very near future.

I just tried this out today and found it easy to use after watching their video that is listed on the instructions. The instructions and the video could use work. The video moves so quickly and you're trying to watch and they're not really showing a clear snap of what piece they are picking up. It takes a couple times before you realize which piece you're supposed to be using. One of the pieces does not match the picture in the instructions. Disregard that and work with the piece they sent you. It works perfectly to hold the larger front piece in place as you squeeze the back piece to it and it does not damage your front piece (which is the piece everyone will see). It's listed as B on the instructions. As for the tool itself, it was very simple once you figured out which part you should and which tool piece you use it with. After trying it out on a towel, I realized the punch side of the tool is really for shirt placement because the throat is very short, maybe an inch, and I was trying to bunch 2 inches of towel into that throat. Next time I try that I'll cut a small x with scissors. The area where you actually push the pieces together has a much larger throat area so it's easier to squash the towel into that area. I got the snaps in, hung the hand towel up in the kitchen, and it's staying where I want it, so that's a plus IMO.The tool itself is VERY well made, heavy duty, and will last years. If you need to figure out those instructions, snap pieces E & F go with tool pieces A & B. Snap pieces G & H go with tool pieces C & D. The image for tool piece B does not have the rounded indent showing (which is where you will be placing snap F so it stays in place as you are pressing the handles together). Tool pieces A & D are threaded and will screw only into one side of your fastener tool. It's a nice tool to add to my crafting and sewing kit--it's a keeper.

The instructions for this Snap fasteners tool kit could use some improvement, but as a tool it’s excellent. The accompanying parts and consumable parts are excellent. I’ve used and set various snaps as well as rivets in the past using hammering methods for rivets and some leather snaps, and sewing for snaps going on to fabrics. The snaps in this kit can go on leather, heavy fabrics and perhaps medium weight fabrics as well. And it should go onto appropriate weight vinyls and manmade “leathers” too.All aspects of applying and fastening snaps are carried out by this tool. First you need to punch as appropriate thin dimeter hole in your material. This tool when it’s handles are squeezed, moves both a hole punch and well as the “jaws” the will press the snap parts into it’s corresponding “anvil.” After the hole is punched you place the two components of the top part of your snap into your material, load the appropriate “punch/hammer” & “anvil” into the “jaws” apply pressure and squeeze. Then you place the two components of the lower part of the snap in place, change to the other pair of “punch/hammer” & “anvil” and squeeze. Once you understand that corresponding components for the upper and lower part of a snap and which parts to install on the tool, it’s a breeze. The learning curve is slow however because the instruction sheet could be written more clearly. There is a url to see a short YouTube video. But that video fails where it needs close-up and a clear itemization and identification of parts. Also, the pacing of the video is very rapid. In YouTube, be sure to set the “playback” speed to a much slower rate. Four bags of snap components are included. The snaps are a nice quality. I made a key ring loop. With this tool you will not need to buy an accessory hole punch which in my case, I already owned. The tool is very well made, feels great in the hand, and you can clearly feel when you properly punched through a piece of thin leather and when you’ve applied the proper amount of pressure on two snap components to get them to “seat” together into one piece.
