This apron actually fit me with decent coverage, and at this price point it's worth five stars just for that. I'm bigger than most and often have trouble with finding things that work. This apron is economically built, the leather isn't super heavy but it'll protect me from sparks. I'm not an everyday welder so it should last a long time. The straps are long enough, though they're near the end of their adjustment to fit me so I may have to pin them or something if they slip out. The stitching is solid and should hold up fine. It has lots of pockets and a couple of rings to hang things from, it's great for my needs!

Pros:ComfortablePleasant leatherD ringsExtra pockets on chestDouble thick middleLong coverageCons:Thin leatherNo edge reinforcement stitchingAggravating suspender system hard too don quicklyHarder too stow properlyMostly single stitchingEasily tangles up (biggest dislike)No option too use as a neck loop styleThis last one is another big one for me I think for the cost of a few snaps an buckles the maker would have done well too give us this choice. As is I feel like I'm not going too use it often because the suspenders bug me ( though comfortable once on). I want something fast too use , that I can don one handed even. This may not be an issue for someone planning too work for a while, were the extra trouble is justified.I think that making safety gear convenient increases its safety because it's less likely too be ignored. In summary this is not a bad item, I know many consider a three anything a poor score but coming from me that just means average, usable not overwhelmingly lovable or frustrating. Just decent.

I have no intention of ever doing actual welding in this apron, but for a general wood-shop, pot-throwing and sculpting work apron it's a bargain at this price. The sueded leather is a single thickness, and the edges are unfinished, but that all works well for my needs. It's much longer than I was expecting. I'm 6'1", and the bottom of the apron came to mid-shin. Even if I hiked up the straps a bit, it would still be below the knee. Not complaining! It was just a surprise.I'ts been about 45 years since I did actual welding in metal-shop at school, but we wore basically cotton lab coats over our clothes as the only protection from heat and sparks, and we all seemed to survive just fine. This leather apron certainly seems sturdy enough to handle that, but I haven't tried it myself.

I got this for use at our summer camp forge, so I haven’t had the chance to actually use it yet. However, my initial thoughts are that it’s a good fit for the youth who operate the forge. It is real leather, but not super heavy. The many tool pockets may or may not see use, but between the stitching and rivets I believe they will securely hold small tools for years to come As long as they aren’t abused.

I’m new to welding. I ordered a welder and now I’m working on necessary accessories. I have the helmet ready to go. Now I have a heavy duty apron to protect me from sparks. Next purchase will be welding gloves. The apron has padded shoulder straps and a waist belt with a click type buckle that fastens in the back. It has plenty of pockets for pencils and small tools. The apron actually feels comfortable to wear. If you’re in need of an apron, this one is pretty nice!

ReviewsByMuseThis is a nice work apron and has lots of pockets. So many pockets. I like the thickness of the material and it has held up well for some light woodworking. We'll be using it for protection on some simple stick welding projects. Good sizing and adjustable straps. Fits a 6' man, 175lbs without any issues. The straps around the girth may be a little tight fitting for severely overweight people, so be sure to order the appropriate size available for your body type.

[October 2024 = MAALIKPRO Leather Welding Work Apron with 9 Tool Pockets]First things first, the photos include information that is NOT accurate. The straps are nylon webbing, not cotton; The apron body is only made of suede leather, with no special internal wicking layer. Also, the apron is 23 inches wide at the bottom by 40 inches long, not 36" x 36".So, now that's out of the way...I'm a tall woman who does stained glass projects, and various random DIY projects. When you're cutting glass and soldering things, it's easy to drop sharp and/or hot stuff down your front, and when you're doing DIY projects there are almost always tools to be carried around. This apron will definitely be useful for all kinds of reasons.I'm not a welder so I don't know if it's suitable for that job, but it seems to be quite well made considering the price. The suede of this apron is soft & flexible, but it's still sturdy enough for my needs, at roughly 1/16th inch thick. The added pockets add a second layer of the suede, so it's thicker and stiffer in that area, but there are NO extra special wicking layers at all, it's just leather. The stitching is pretty good, the pockets are on straight, the shoulder straps have sliding pads for comfort. The various straps are black nylon webbing, NOT the cotton mentioned in the photos, but the length of each one is adjustable to suit different size people. The waist strap is around 55 inches long with an easy to use plastic clip closure. The leather is a nice bright brown color and as I mentioned above, the width of the leather is only about 23 inches (but that's plenty for my needs) by 40 inches long. I love the extra length because it reaches well below my knees. It's definitely not as fancy as the current photos claim imply, which is why I've docked a star, but I think it will still be very useful for me.
