I was hoping for something that would bring the brightness *way* down, but these start out fairly bright. OK for the TV backlight application they're being used for, but I would have liked more adjustability on the low end.

So I bought a Lightaling LED light kid for the Lego Home Alone House, and the LEDs were insanely bright. The Lightaling kit uses USB-A for power, so this USB dimmer was exactly what I need to make the LEDs not painful to look at directly from across the room. I only used it for about a month during the Christmas season, but it worked great.

I bought two pairs of these units to control white LED strips for use on my computer desks. Worked perfectly.I was not expecting to find USB-to-bare wire connectors in box along with the units. These will come in handy for other USB 5V powered projects I might have in the future.

I was hoping I found the perfect product, to use in various electric applications but mainly to dim a USB light. It works, but must have significant overhead or resistance even in the fully on position. My 1.22Amp led light drops to 0.74A after putting this inline, with the dial at max output. It works as dimmer, but that is pretty excessive to cut off that much of my top end.Its cheap enough and is ALMOST perfect, just keep in mind that really it works more like this:-Dimmer not plugged inline = MAX power-Dimmer plugged inline at turned all the way up= ~60% power?-Dimmer turned all the way down= 0% powerFor the price and if you have simple USB lights you need dimmed, it will do the purpose perfectly, be aware though with the dimmer at 100% power it still wont be as bright as if you removed the dimmer. I tested this on all 3 I received and was the same for all 3. However, if you don't care about a 20-40% drop in max brightness, this will work very nicely to get a soft, easy fade all the way to 0%. Perfect for cheap led copper fairy lights and a starry effect.

Note that this dial has a wider application than just adjusting LED brightness. This can also be used to adjust the flow rate on most USB air or water pumps, the speed on most USB fans, and more. It works by adjusting the voltage from 0 at the off position to probably 5 Volt (or maybe 8 Volt?) on the full strength position. I used one of these dials to adjust the bubbler strength on a nano-aquarium of mine, and I used the other to adjust the flow rate on my cat's water fountain. I absolutely love these dials, and I want other people to know they can be used to solve a variety of problems.

I have a 5V outdoor light string used for camping. They draw 3W, and are actually too bright. This dimmer can lower the draw down to 0.2 W, which is very dim, but just enough light to see your surroundings. A small battery pack normally lasting five hours, lasted 145 hours! Upping wattage so the lights were quite bright, the battery lasted 20 hours. Very happy with the way this thing works.

Avec un gradateur touch, ça ne fonctionnait pas pour la domotique. La luminosité revenait toujours au max en rallumant. Avec ça, ça fonctionne!
