I grab these to redo a tailgate on a work truck. The only complaint I have is that I wish the tabs were different colors to match the factory tabs on the truck. However, in the powder coating it is stamped for right hand and left hand. My OCD just got the best of me when the new tailgate handle had a red and green tab.

These did not latch securely. The genuine GM part is built much better. Yes they are more expensive however they took this long to fail. A new genuine part will likely take just as long to fail again.

These really didn't last as long as they should. springs are already rusted and the latch does not open when pressed against the truck. I have to manually press open the latch then press on the truck bed to get them to close. Once they're closed, there's no issue. Closing is the issue.

Initially worked great but after a few months the left side stopped working. Have to pull on the handle and manually move the locking latch into position so the tailgate can be closed again. Lubing the mechanism didn't fix the issue.

The plastic retaining clips are SUPER cheap, mine came pre-broken. If your old clips aren't reusable, this product isn't for you. Other than that they're satisfactory.

The bolt that holds the cable end and bottom bolt for the latch. The head of the bolt 🔩, isn't big enough to not slip through the tail gate cable end. I ha do pry the collar off the bolt and slid a flat washer on against the head and then slid the collar on. Was a pain in the qss to ge the pressed on collar off with a flat screw driver and claw hammer
