Title says it all. The results are not accurate. Also seller does not include battery, and removes 5 metal testers. Just why? Avoid.- Feels cheap (Because it is)- Will give inaccurate results- Only does Celsius.

Works great and comes with properly marked sensor wires now! January 2025.Used to calibrate the tips for my KSGER T12

The product itself seems ok. Feels very cheap. Compared it to another thermometer it’s within about 5c. Didn’t come with battery as shown in picture, ands only included 5 sensors, not 10 as the package says. Disappointed. Would not recommend.

This is a knock-off of the Hakko FG-100 Soldering Iron Tip Temp Calibrator with a few exceptions. It only does Celsius, which is fine and does the Max Hold function pretty good. For the money, it is around $20US whereas the Hakko FG-100 is over 1200US but has Celsius or Fahrenheit. I also like the design of the metal drip area under the sensor spot. It also came with 5 cheap Hakko fake temp sensor wires that are pretty flimsy and only have the red dot indicator on one wire. Even though it comes in a fake Hakko 191-212 package with the cardboard insert that says it is supposed to be 10 pieces. I bought additional genuine Hakko 191-212 temp sensors and they are more sturdy and have the red and blue dot indicators. It is fairly accurate for the money and was off about 8*C.. I haven't tried a genuine Hakko 191 temp sensor but have some projects coming up. The sensors are supposed to be good for 50 measurements. the cheapo fake 191-212 sensors lasted about 5. I tested both for 300*C. And as I said, the FG-100 was about 8*C over and adjusted down fine with the calibration function of my soldering station.I ordered both the knock-off Hakko 191 and FG-100. The Hakko 191 was discontinued 10-12 years ago and were around $250US. The knock-off Hakko FG-100 is pretty sturdy and felt pretty solid. The buttons worked well and it seemed pretty good. The Max/Hold functioned well. The 191 felt and looked cheap and flimsy. It also only does Celsius. ..which is not that big of a deal (for me anyway) The Max Hold seemed to work OK but it was off about 20*C from the FG-100 for Soldering Workstation Temp Calibration, so o I returned it.Some other issues...both 191 and FG-100 only have instructions in Chinese and it was hard to decipher. You could tell things like 300*C - 600*C range for something but not much else. If you get either of these, do yourself a favor and do an Internet search or go to Hakko's site and you can download the English manuals...which had some pretty good info. Like to set the Soldering Station to 250*C until it can melt solder, then clean the tip and do a measurement. Both units have 3 poles. Red and Blue poles for the lower 2 legs of the sensor wire and an adjustable spring loaded top pole that is a 'K' type temp sensor. Once the sensor wires are installed and you press on, you'll see the room temp in Celsius. If you turn it on without installing a temp sensor wire, it will display 1 since the temp testing circuit isn't complete. To measure the temp, melt a little solder on the iron tip and press lightly on the pad on the sensor where the 3 wires intersect. You'll see the temp begin to go up. You can either read it real time or press the Max/Hold. During this the display won't update until you press the Max/Hold button is pressed. So you can see what the highest temp was. If you view it real time, you can see the temp fluctuate and stabilize. I prefer to do the Max/Hold on the first attempt and get a good measure of what it should be. Then I do the real time test because my soldering station uses a PID to regulate temp, so once it gets to the max, it will fluctuate + or - 2*C. I then adjust the soldering work station calibration and do the real time again and repeat until I'm zoomed in on the correct calibration.Below are a few pics. The one with the FG-100 has the cheapo sensor but displays the current room temp in Celsius. And I included the Tip Tinner in case you are interested in that. The other pic shows the el cheapo 191-212 sensors on the left and the genuine Hakko 191-212 sensor wires. As you can see the sloppy wire twists and only 1 red dot says it all. the genuine Hakko 191-212 sensors are on the right. The genuine Hakko 191-212 sensors have tighter winds for the Red & Flue poles along with better color marking than the fakes.I hope this review is useful to those looking for a temp calibrator. Seems all the newer soldering workstations need periodic calibration. Also the Tip Tinner works on all kinds of tips. My trusty old 60watt soldering iron with no frills worked a hell of a lot better after I used the Tin Tinner...that stuff is great!

Once I figured out how to connect the thermocouple it does work and seems to read accurately. Instructions are horrible. Says connect red marker on thermocouple to red post and blue to blue post except there is no blue marker on the thermocouple so it's a guess as to which way it goes. Can't you get someone who can read and write English to make the instructions or is that too hard

lehaha Tip Soldering Iron Temperature Tester FG-100.I had to recalibration my early Hakko soldering iron as the heater went out in it. This Iron Temperature Tester is well made. It came with extra temperature sensors. Instruction booklet and a silicon washer which I assume goes over the center indexing post, to keep solder from entering the unit. The instruction booklet could use some re-writing, in English, as it reads like it was translated directly from Chinese.
