I recently got the GoPro Hero 12 and had been looking for a spike to fit the bottom of my monopod for use when out on backpacking trips, since I'm usually hiking in places where the ground is just too uneven to use a tripod base. I was worried this thing would be too flimsy. It was really hard to tell what I was buying based on the pictures and item description. I looked at tons of these types of spikes and hummed and hawed over them and finally settled on this one thinking I could at least try it and return it if it didn't work out. Right out of the box I knew this thing was going to hold up to some abuse. It's super hefty. And it definitely feels like it's going to have no problems holding up a fully extended monopod with a GoPro mounted on it. Pretty glad I bought it, definitely will be keeping it. Hope this review helps others.

excellent for use with monopod, etc for holding into the ground. Soft/Medium ground/dirt, hard packed sand best, not so much out in the desert.
