This Portable EV charger by RhEVchar, is a very functional, good quality charger that offers versatility, making it a great choice to consider among the ever increasing EV charger world. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – This one is overall a well-built charger being both functional and durable, but definitely not top of the line. I’d put it in the upper-middle level of the quality scale and guess it should have a good service life.II. Usability – It offer a good range of charging amps by allowing multiple choices between 6 and 32 Amps with a NEMA 14-50 plug. Charging at 32A will provide fast enough charging for most people’s needs. The cables are on the thicker side (not the thickest I have), allowing for less heat and stress, when used for extended charging’s. The main head unit is somewhat basic in its offerings versus more high end chargers, but does provide the needed information through a digital screen. It also, comes with a padded travel case that’s on the nicer side of these cases and very helpful if you’re going to bring it along.Overall, this is a solid choice for both transportability or just to use daily. If you’re willing to spend more, there are better quality and more sophisticated options, but in the end they will both charge your car sufficiently. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

This EVSE pairs well with a Tesla. I love the minimalist design. It features relevant safety standards and the button on the NACS connector opened my charge port.I tried a 14-50 to 5-15 adapter (not included) to confirm it can support 120V level 1 charging.Since I have Tesla Energy at home with powerwalls I have the option for charge on solar. This worked with this EVSE allowing to me use only excess solar to charge my Tesla. When I charge on solar I typically use lower charging levels so my house is still powered by solar. This allows me to avoid drawing from the grid. I sometimes go car camping at RV parks in my Tesla so the 120V level 1 charging support is important to me.With level 2 charging at 240v, 32A it is equivalent to Tesla's Mobile Connector. It comes with a carrying case to keep it protected when traveling with it.

Yes, it is a Tesla style NACS charge plug. Plugged straight into the 50A outlet in my garage. All normal boring stuff. When it arrived the cardboard box is probably the heaviest I have seen in a year. It came in a light nylon bag (probably the weakest thing of the whole order). The plug had a plastic protector to keep the prongs from getting bent. Wrapped in bubble wrap. The charge handle was wrapped as well. And the charger was also bubble wrapped. Well shipped, a rarity these daysGood and heavy as well. Calling this one copper wire based on weight. Not that junk copper clad aluminum that you sometimes find when costs get cut.

This EV charger feels very basic. There is a light that indicates what the amperage output is at.This EV charger is for Teslas and is capable of up to 40A output. The cord is very long at 28ft which is great. for portability. The product states that it is UL listed but I am not sure that it is actually true or just falsely advertised.Overall, it's a good EV charger that's very basic in features but it has the higher amperage going for it along with the long cord.
