I was assembling it with my boyfriend and son. My dog knocked it out of my hands about 10 inches or so and the whole thing broke. Not just because it doesnt work, the whole thing broke into pieces.

I ordered this item for a purpose other then what it's intended for. Basically I like the concept of the floating rotating display but I don't have any sneakers fancy enough to want to show off like that. Plus since I wear a size 14 my sneakers might be too big to work in this display. So I am hoping to figure our how to make it work for other things that might be more worthwhile to display. It comes with a powerful magnet which you place in the item on display near the top and that gets attracted to the electro magnet that is activate when it's powered on. It also comes with three steel balls that you put inside the item at the bottom, they serve as a counter weight that helps to create the seperation for the rotating effect and it helps to keep the item centered as it rotates. When you turn it off the magnet at the top of the item on display is then able to make contact with the display unit and holds the displayed item there when the power is off.
