For the price and performance there is absolutely no more you could ask for! Currently I am using my 6.2:1 on a 7’2” medium fast throwing all my lipless, square bills, medium to deep diving Cranks and using it as my jerk rod as-well. There isn't to many reels on the market that perform all these duties with ease, additionally effortlessly casting with extreme distance. The brakes are very typical for this style and price and perform well above in comparison to any other reel I have used in the pass for a similar work load. Over all I would buy thus reel again and again all though the life of this reel seems to be endless with a little bit of seasonal maintenance.

Great reel this is my second lews casting reel and it's great. Well built, smooth retrieve and casting. Brakes work well and I have few backlashes. I have it spooled with braid.

So I bought some cheap bait casters in the past that were good but not great so I decided to spend the extra money on the lews and man what a night and day difference. The reel is super smooth and cast a mile without creating a birds nest. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great reel without breaking the bank.

I'm a big fan boy of this company so I have a biased review. It's a great reel. It does everything you're looking for in a baitcaster. I started with the classic pro. Have 5 of those now, so I decided to step it up a bit and go for this model. It was worth it. I absolutly love this reel. You should buy one too! Lews Rules!

The reel operated less smoothly than I anticipated too, however it is getting smoother with use.The anti reverse has much more backlash than I expected as well.The box had been opened before I recieved the reel; I suspect that the unit was a "return".The purchase failed to fulfill my expectations.I attribute my dissatisfaction to Amazon at leastas much as I do to the reel itself. Theunit arrived in an opened and damaged box. Also therewas no user manual or other documentation from themanufacturer in the box when it arrived.It seems Amazon is not what it once was... good.I dislike leaving negative feedback, howeverthe state of things as they actually existhas given me no choice but to be negativeabout this matter.

Haven’t got to use the reel yet so I won’t have much insight on the performance but it seems very smooth and built extremely well, the package arrived in an Amazon bag and inside the bag was the box, it was a half opened box from Lews with the reel inside and nothing else, I could tell the reel had spun causing the triggers on the reel to open the box, nothing major but I personally don’t like the thought of my new $100 reel bouncing around in the packaging, no styrofoam or air inserts to cushion the package or anything, my reel seems to be in perfect working condition but I guess it’s just one of those peace of mind things when you think about it being jumbled all around the state in the back of an Amazon truck.

This is my second Speed Spool LFS. I have one in 8.3:1 and another in 6.8:1. These reels are built solid, pretty smooth retrieve, brakes are super easy to adjust, simple to dial end (a tiny bit of spool side to side play and magnets at 4-5). I can cast a good distance with great control.I would put these just a tad below in the Curado line of reels in smoothness, but these offer more control and cost 1/2 the price. I have a Curado 70 MGL for lighter baits and line, the Speed Spool reels are my main workhorses now. The reel size is just a tad bigger than the curado 70 MGL and holds more line, very comfortable.Very impressed with these reels and I see why they have a large following.

I have 2 of these now, it is just as nice as my shimano slx dc reels. For lighter baits I prefer this reel over reels that go for double the price. All around great reel for the money. You can go wrong at this price point. Your getting a reel that if I paid 200 for it still feel like it was a deal.

Got the left handed version because that's more natural for me. (I've used spinning reals for most of my life) Just opened the box. Right off the bat... Super smooth action. I'm not sure if reels get smoother than this, considering I've been using an ancient Abu Garcia baitcaster, but if they do you don't really need it. First thing I did was give the spool a little spin and then blew on it and it spead up and spun for ever. The knob that engages the break is large and easy to get to. The clicks when you adgust the drag are satisfying. The magnetic break works really well and it's pretty comfy when you wrap your fingers around it. The cut out around the spool is massive so if you're someone who fishes with gloves on it'll be no problem to get your thumb on the spool.I'm not sure how my rod and line will cooperate but you might be able to throw ultra light lures with it. Haven't put it through it's paces but I'll come back after I've whomped on it a bit (and hopefully in the process caught some fish) and give an updateSorry for potato quality pictures. This reel on its own its realky nice. Smooth retrieval and casting. Unfortunately after the first cast the button to release the spool broke on one side. All that hard work and they put the crappiest release button ive ever seen on a pole. Extremely disappointed to see the LEWS name even printed on this reel. Couldve been an amazing reel but they scimped on what they saw as a non essential part they could save a few cents on. Really sucks.
