Used these to replace the same unit in another brand when they broke before installation. As a result, my siphon unit works perfectly and I have not had the issues others have. These bulkheads are notably superior when compared to others. These might be my 5th or more purchase of this brand and all are working without issues.

ordered 6 of these and did not know that they are only threaded on one half of the insert. most that I have used are treaded on both ends, just means I have to install from outside to inside. not a big deal or makes them unusable but I am use to installing from the inside out. otherwise happy with price and fast shipping and will probably buy again

Cheaply made ABS bulkhead but works only when I changed out the gasket.I purchased the 2" version for my needs to connect HDPE buckets. Installed them and reinstalled again after it leaked. To properly have them functioning do the following:1) Use 2 7/8" (73mm) hole saw. Anything bigger has too much play (slop). Cut as precise as you can. Little to no deviation from center. Debur as needed.2) Change out the gaskets to flat rubber as the ones provided is double ribbed. They're also too tight on the threads which may hinder the nut to sit flush. Gasket shall be installed on wet side. Make sure your surface is flat and free of debris or gouges.3) Before installing the the nut, add a 1/4" bead minimum of silicone on the treads near the base of the flange. I used GE advance silicone. This will help seal the fitting. Wait 24 hours to cure, then leak check.

I bought a pile of these for use in an Undercurrent RWDC hydroponics system. If anyone else out there is planning to do the same, make sure you have the right kind of pipe. I have no plumbing experience whatsoever, so these said 2" PVC pipe fittings. After going to Home Hardware and purchasing a bunch of white 2" PVC pipe, I got home to find out that it was the wrong kind. Ended up going to Home Depot and getting 2" black ABS pipe which not only worked better for being a bigger size but black as well.

Use 5 of these in an aquaponics setup, they don't quite seal perfectly. Put a nice large bead of 100% silicone on the gasket (inside of tank) and let that dry for at least 4-5 hours before getting wet and you wont have any leakage.Most of my leaks occurred on curved tanks that didn't let the seal flatten up evenly along the tank.

I needed this to go through the side of my pole barn to run an extension cord to my fig trees for heating in the winter. I read some poor reviews but some good ones too so I bought it. I was very pleased. This is very heavy duty and the threads are the perfect size unlike some of the poor reviews claim. I used a very large slip-joint pair of pliers to tighten it and the gasket formed perfect on the panel corrugation. If anyone else is considering this application, I drilled a hole the same size as the extension cord into a 2" cap (see photo). I then cut a slot through with a saw past the hole to near the opposite side so the plastic cap could open up to allow the cord in. when I tighten it up, it closed on the cord to keep it snug so it doesn't get pulled through and with a dab of silicone it will be water tight. In the spring I will just take it out and replace it with a standard cap. I am very pleased with this purchase.

These appear to be well made and heavy looking. Not flimsy. All four installed and no leaks. The part was free and clear of any manufacturing defects. I have had my tank up and running for a week or so.
