My garage door stopped working after a thunderstorm. The garage door tech said the board was fried, so I bought this one and installed it myself and it works great! This literally saved me about $200 from having a garage tech install it (and of course he wanted to upsell me warranties and motors for an additional $1000 on top of that)Tips:-not all of us have easily-marked wiring, so take a picture of the old unit before you remove it- make sure to see where the outside wires will line up-get a reliable power surge strip to install your entire unit into.

It took all of 5 minutes to install. When I ordered it I was curious why it was a few dollars more than the circuit board on Chamberlain's website. The I received It I realized that it was more than just the circuit board. It included the back plastic mount for the garage door opener. Three screws, two connectors, and four wire connections and I was done. Works like new

Les explications fournies sont claires et il est facile de l'installer. La partie plus délicate est de paramétrer les forces pour l'ouverture et la fermeture de la porte mais j'ai finalement copié les forces de l'ancienne carte mère et cela fonctionne.

I think most people would agree that the most annoying and aggravating problems to troubleshoot are the intermittent, random issues that cannot be force-ably reproduced. Whether it is a car making a noise that you try to mimic the sound to your mechanic as you swear it was there right before you pulled up or a computer error that pops up for no good reason, they are irritating. Such was the case with my garage door opener. Several years ago it started acting up. During the cold winter months the car remote would randomly stop working. I would sometimes have to press the button 15 times to get the garage door to open or close. This would also happen when using the wireless keypad on the outside of the garage door. Sometimes, one would work while the other did not and vice versa. At times I would give up and either open or close it using the wired button on the wall. Then an hour later with nothing being done, it would be fine for several days or weeks (sometimes only hours) but eventually it would happen again. The first thing everyone said was change the battery. I did. I always check the voltage of the batteries before replacing them to verify that it is in fact a battery issue. Every battery I replaced was pretty much at full capacity but I changed them anyway. Annoyingly sometimes that seemed to fix the matter but only for days/weeks. In addition, sometimes I would relearn the codes and that seemed to work. Whatever. Yesterday morning (and for the last 2 months) everything was fine. When I returned home the garage door opener was DEAD! Nothing, Nil, Nada. I did all the trouble shooting before calling Chamberlain. I spoke with a very nice rep who basically said "you've tested everything possible which means it's probably the logic board." Chamberlain gave me the model number and said they can sell it to me for $69.99 + S&H. Before ordering it from them I wanted to see if it was Available on Amazon, because next day shipping from Chamberlain would have $40. Well, Amazon had it so I called the rep and advised him I would be getting it from Amazon with Free 2-Day Shipping. He said "go for it - I'd get it from Amazon also".It arrived about 2 hour ago (it made it here in 1 day). This it what replacing the logic board entails:1) Unplug the motor-head from the outlet2) Disconnect the wires from the back of the unit (2 sensor wires and 2 wall button wires)3) Remove 3 screws4) Gently take off back panel to expose the logic board and 2 cable that connect it to the motor5) Remove the 2 connectors from the logic boardTake the replacement logic board out of the box and REVERSE THE PROCESS and you are DoneFrom start to finish 7 minutes (2 minutes spent getting up and down the ladder with the parts)Once the new logic board was replaced I relearned the remotes and PRESTO everything works perfectly. If you are not in a diabetic coma anyone can do this.In retrospect chances are more than likely that the logic board had been failing all this time - kinda like your hard drive slowly failing until it eventually you get the BSOD and replace the drive. In summary - a simple, easy fix that solved all issues (at least for the last hour). If anything changes I will update this review.

We had a lightening strike nearby the house and lost a number of low voltage electronic items (alarm system, garage door opener etc.). I thought I was going to have to replace the entire unit and I called Chamberlain and they walked me through the process of changing the safety sensors (I had already bought two new units), testing them and then replacing the logic board if the test failed. The board took 10 minutes to install and it now works great. I appreciate Chamberlain's customer support and the ability to do a DIY repair. Saved me a couple hundred $$.

@@@ Make sure the model number on your garage opener circuit board matches exactly 41AC050-1M and your opener has a light bulb, this is the exact replacement for it and fits perfectly. @@@I spent a lot of money on a new garage opener at Home Depot a little over a year ago only to find out several months later that the remote would not respond sometimes, especially when it was cold weather, or just at times randomly. It would work fine for a long time and then start not responding even when I was just a few feet from the unit. I looked up all kinds of answers on the Internet about interference from wireless devices and certain types of light bulbs on the same circuit breaker. I even soldered on a longer antenna wire to the circuit board. Finally I just spent $65 to replace the circuit board a couple weeks ago, and so far it is working perfectly. If I have any problems in the future I will update this review, but others said this was the real fix, to replace the wireless receiver board. Seems to be working, and it is easy to do, just 3 screws, and a couple things to unplug from the board, put in the new board exactly with the same connections and screws. I did not even have to adjust the opener, it was already set right. You have to push the button and reprogram your remote. Then test the pressure on the garage door and make sure it goes up and down all the way. But as I said mine was already adjusted correctly.
