Very easy to install, didn’t have to charge as it was at 100%. Has a very helpful % charge read out that’s very helpful

Came to my house Dead on Arrival. The display would not even light up and I connected my DC FLUKE meter to the terminals and there was zero volts present. Tried to charge but as you know once cells are that low your not charging it with a lithium chargers. Sent it back, got my money back and bought another lead acid battery from tractor supply. The last one lasted from March 2019 until now so great battery for 57 dollars.

Good battery. Not using for any motorized vehicles but we use it for our rain water collection systems to run portable pumps.

I am a product design engineer and over the past half dozen years I have designed a number of systems for government agencies using LiFePO4 batteries. These batteries are sort of the king of lithium based batteries and have all of the desirable features of other types, but are far safer and don't present a significant fire danger. The Military prefers them because you can actually shoot them and they don't explode or catch fire. They also store a great deal of energy for their size and weight and can be recharged and discharged far more times than conventional LA (lead-acid) batteries and last for a very long time. The LiFePO4 batteries have a different cell Voltage than a LA battery, but they incorporate clever electronic circuitry that allows them to replicate and be charged with conventional systems designed for conventional LA batteries. When I got the chance to evaluate this TYKOOL LiFePO4 lawn mower battery, I jumped at it to significantly upgrade my garden tractor with the last battery it will probably ever need. It will also crank better and be much more reliable over time. Currently these more advanced batteries cost almost twice what a conventional LA battery costs, but since it will outlast 4 or 5 of them and you won't have the costs associated with replacing the battery every few years, it is a really good investment over the long haul. This TYKOOL battery has another clever and useful feature in that it has an integral digital meter that will give you the voltage and charge capacity of the battery with the push of a button.

do not know how long it will last so i cannot rate the life of the battery, would have to do that in a year or two..but it was a perfect fit,had a full charge when arrived and started my mower which is stored outside at 30 degrees like it was 80 degrees..so lightweight it is surprising..happy with it so far

This is an unusual battery - good cranking strength but low total capacity - and it does seem to be a good fit for small engines - like lawn tractors, larger generators and utility vehicles. The size is a match to the stated form factor in a lead acid or SLA battery but its very small for the starting current available - and its a fraction of the weight. This does, in theory, need a little different charging voltage and monitoring - but it seems to be tolerating the charging on our generator and starts it easily. For applications that really only need starting, this seems like a great option - maybe not ideal for places where you want to run a lot of continuous loads or run accessories when the engine is off - the 8Ah capacity is quite low.Interesting new option and seems to be working great.

When the FedEx driver arrived with my package the first thing I noticed was the light weight. After decades of mowing I expect a ride on mower battery to to be heavy - 15 or 20 pounds. It's a bit uncanny. The battery is very carefully packed in layers of foam and cardboard but once you get inside it is the recognizable shape with two chunky terminals on top. Something else new is that there is a small digital voltmeter sleeping in the dead center of the top. I woke it up by pressing the small ON button and it read 13.3V. Nice - it's fully charged already I thought. I put a digital meter on the terminals to check and it confirmed 13.32 V. So the onboard meter seems to be right on.The light weight will be a blessing when I install because mower battery compartments are always tight and trying to gracefully plop a heavy thing into a tight position is always misery for knuckles. This battery is so light that you can hold it by the terminal pegs with no worry of damage.Of course the big unknown is longevity. I have got into the habit of wanting a new lead acid battery every second year and feeling blessed if I could coax another few months from it. Time will tell. One immediate consideration is disposal of the old lead acid. I used to go the big box store and dump my old one for a bit of discount and not have a worrying acid bomb left in the garage. I'm still making a plan for disposing my old one.Looking forward to installation day in the Spring.
