Buckles are very cheap and will not fit through most kayak attachment points. Look for the better quality backrests, these are very flimsy, with brass french clips. About 10 dollars more.

Bought these for my kids Lifetime Wave kayaks. Mounting was simple, just adding a few attachment points in the rear (see photos) and clipping it in. However, the forward-facing straps are too low and the back isn’t rigid enough to provide adequate support for the user. Better than nothing, but we are going to look into other options.

I used in a kayak with a back support already. Its a bit more comfortable but can't really remove the hard back support as there is no support in this model, it just bends to your back.

This is an excellent, affordable kayak back rest. It fits both my ocean kayak double and my ocean kayak single yak board.
