First one arrived w/o the clamp, 2nd arrived with clamp pin that was too long to be functional and did not allow it to tighten. Perhaps this has a specific use but it did not work at all for me...twice.

Metal rod is too long and does not fit into the part correctly. There aren’t any indentations in the plastic to accept the piece.

I was hopeful that this cam-lock type paddle clamp would replace the broken one on my wifes’ SUP paddle.This was ordered 7/27/23 and arrived about a week ago, despite my Account showing it had been delivered 4 days after ordering. So it actually took more than two months to arrive. I have no idea what is up with that.I did everything I could to make this work, including substituting longer screws. I didn’t drill holes, as I didn’t want to damage the item, but TBH it is mostly useless and will be disposed of.I was able to cannibalize the black lever and metal pin and insert the pin through the damaged clamp assembly and get it to tighten up some, but it is not tight as you would want it and the paddle can slip, but it takes some effort.This is not satisfactory and the product I was sold was defective as there was no way to assemble and tighten it down as you would expect.This design is really crappy. First, using a Phillips head screw means: A) it turns when the lever is turning, as you normally rotate the lever to tighten and B) to prevent turning you need to carry (and possibly drop in the water and lose) a Phillips head screw driver. Unacceptable.Better designs incorporate the indent to allow fitment for a hex-head nut to mate with a bolt. So simple and so obvious, yet it eludes this manufacturer. No screwdriver needed.Keep looking. Do not buy this.

We broke the original one and needed a replacement. Use a heat gun to remove the old one and glue on this new one and you are set. Works perfectly!
