This cat litter scoop is too level, making it hard to use the long handle. The scoop should curve a little more. Also, pretty heavy. Glad that a short handle was included, so it is of use. Would not buy again with the thought of it being a long handled scoop.

I ordered this to use in my cats’ litter box after our old metal scoop broke. I like this one better because it’s a little easier to scoop and just get the clumps without all the litter, but the square corners on the scoop make it a little harder to get into the rounded corners of our litter box.As far as the extension pole goes, the scoop doesn’t work as well with that. I also had a hard time figuring out which section screwed into which. I opted to just use the scoop with the wooden handle and ditch the extension pole.

I have to admit, I gave this as a Christmas gift to a close friend with sort of a wink and a nod. She has complained on several occasions about having to get so close to her cat's box to clean it, I thought it would be ideal for her. Turns out, she REALLY appreciated receiving it and has commented several times how much she appreciated it and how handy it has been. It is well-made and designed, and is made of appropriate materials for the intended use. I can highly recommend it!

I got this NigWarm Telescoping Metal Cat Litter Scoop because I liked the idea of being as far away from the dust of the cat litter as possible. I use clumping litter but it is still dusty. I have several cat litter boxes placed in various locations so I gave this scoop a try for a couple of days.First I tried scooping while on my feet, using the pole extended at about ¾ of its length and I found it to be very awkward. I had a hard time keeping the clumped urine on the scoop, it kept rolling off and I’d have to scoop it up again. The box was just scooped yesterday so there wasn’t a large amount of waste but I also found it hard to navigate where to push the scoop so as not to break up the urine clumps. I had to hold the long handle like a shovel, holding with both hands, bent at the waist to keep the clumps balanced on the scoop. Then trying to move the scoop, balancing the clump to the waste can. Also I found that in tight areas there was literally no way to use the long handle.At another litter box I am able to sit as I scoop, so I thought okay what if someone in a wheelchair gets this long handled scoop, maybe I can use it better seated. No, it was harder to balance the scoop.The scoop itself is wire, which is my preference in a litter scoop but this one has narrow wires at the end of the scoop, which is a problem as I kept ending up with cat litter (no clumps or waste just the actual clumping litter) and kept having to tap to sift the litter off the scoop. The wires closer to the handle are wider. The scoop would work better if the wires were all at the same wider width.I found that I had to keep tightening the scoop to the handle, it kept turning and coming loose from the pole. Not only that but the pole kept sliding back into itself so I tightened those screws but it started to feel like I would strip the plastic if I kept tightening. Maybe I got a defective product but this scoop was really uncomfortable to use.I tried using the short wooden handle which was just slightly better, but again the scoop kept trying to come loose from the wooden handle. I had to take some stars away, the only reason why I allowed 3 stars is because we have a big litter box in a catio (2’ x 2’ sand box type setup) and there is lots of room all around the area so I was able to navigate the scoop better. I have gotten so accustomed to my favorite stainless steel scoop that I just couldn’t make the leap on this one, your mileage may vary.

Very impressed with the quality of this cat litter scooper; the pole and scoop are all metal and you can immediately feel the heft in your hand. It's almost overbuilt to the point where it's kind of awkwardly heavy in use. Because the pole can extend out more than four feet the weight can compound with the lever moment making it even harder to use. In practice I found that being that far from the, ahem, focus of my work, was an additional challenge. I ended up flinging a bit more litter than I did with my traditionally sized scooper. Overall the quality is super high and if you REALLY need a long pole cat scooper this is that but I would argue you probably don't *need* a really long scooper if you think about it.

I ordered the NigWar Cat Litter Scoop 37.5-57in Telescoping Metal Cat Litter Scoop because I'm one of thsoe folks struggling with Severe Arthritis and thought, Hey! what a great idea! I can't wait to get it!Well, it arrived today with a sharp screw (for attaching the rake end I discovered later) was sticking out of the end of the package that I nearly cut myself on. I opened the package and did a once over of the parts and the parts list to see what I had ordered. The telecsoping mechanism was all scratched up.Next, I started to assemble. Everything was going okay until the ONE length part had a blue plug (not pictured in the instructions and not on any other part) was stuck in one end of the part that goes into the telescoping mechanism. I attempted to "unscrew it" but to no avail. I attempted to use a flathead screwdriver to see if I could dislodge it. Nope. Next, I broke out the channel locks. Still NO. I didn't want to try anymore because I was afraid to damage the pipe. It doesn't fit into the telescoping mechanism with the blue pipe plug. There is nothing in the instructions and if you have any questions, you have to call an INTERNATIONAL NUMBER DIRECT to ask. FUN. I don't have International calling on my phone so I'm leaving the review here.I can't believe it. I will not be able to finish assembling the item. It also comes with a random wood handle. I'm confused. It doesn't actually fit anywhere.From my experience, I cannot even assemble it to see what it's like to use. So disappointed that I won't get to actually USE it. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this item. You might have a different experience?Buy at your own risk.THANK YOU AMAZON VINE!
