It’s hard to find a good pair, this set the blade is strong and opens wide. I like how the handles expand but the only problem with those is they just feel loose.

I gave away a previous trimming looper a few years ago, since I did not use them very often. I had lost the only 2 trees in my front yard to a severe wind storm, so I thought I would not need them anymore. Wrong! Turns out that I have several very large bushes that absolutely explode with growth over our desert winters, and they grow nasty thorns! I had to ask a neighbor recently to use his loopers to severely cut back these bushes, since my hand-size cutters just weren't up for the job. With these new loopers I should be all set to trim those large bushes after they explode again this coming winter.These loopers are really impressive! They have really heavy-duty jaws which can open extremely wide, and they have handles that can easily extend a long way. I love the clever locking devices in the handles that positively lock the handles when extended. This is a really good safety feature! Also, the hand grips are well shaped, contributing to good control when trimming. All in all, these are really superb loopers and should last me many years!

These are heavy and solid. They make nice, sharp cuts, and easily slice through branches and blackberry canes. I got these to replace a pair of loppers I had that were extendable, but they would extend and then twist to lock in place. Well, the lock wouldn't hold anymore, so they would slip as I was trying to cut. These have buttons that pop into holes to hold it securely in the extended position. There is one conflict in the Amazon posting. The text says the loppers can cut up to one inch in diameter, while the picture has a caption that says a two-inch diameter cutting capacity. I haven't tried anything that is two inches thick, but I think that would be tough to do.

I have been using these pruners 2-3 days a week for over a month now. They make cutting through limbs so easy. with minimal effort, I am able to get an accurate, smooth prune on trees and shrubs with minimal effort. The pruners come with extra blades. The handles are telescopic, and can be extended independently of one another. They have made a huge difference in my yard maintenance, reducing time, effort, and eliminated strain and scrapes while pruning.
