The cymbal sounds more like a mini ride than a splash. Far too much tinny sustain to be a splash. With a moderate strike there is about ten seconds of sustained ring. It sounds a bit like a small bell. It seems well-made for a $20 cymbal but it's not the sound I was looking for.

Really like the cymbal. It looks great and has good sound and quality for the price. It was delivered in a timely fashion.

The company is not bad and the sound is definitely more quiet. But don’t expect amazing tone.

My drumming can drive the family (and pets) crazy sometimes, so it's nice to pair low-volume cymbals with my taped drums, to bring the noise level down a bit.

I like this little practice cymbal. But, as I believe some other reviewers have said, I don't think I'd call it a "Splash", it's more like a Ride cymbal's "Ping"... And, it's not made of brass, but, it's actually stainless steel!I think it's really great looking, too. In fact, ya might want to get one, just for THE LOOKS!Plus, it doesn't sound bad. It's kind of a unique sound, I think. As I said, it's a "ping".Of course, the "10 Splash Cymbal, Low Volume Splash Cymbal" is supposed to be used as a Practice Cymbal, as it's somewhat quieter, but, you could still use it with your full Live kit...I also tried adding a few #6 machine screws & lock-nuts, for a bit of a "rivets" sizzle... ;o)It didn't work too bad... I'm gonna Sample it, too.I got the 10" version, priced at less than 20 bucks, and, I like it.IF you don't expect to get a Turkish Cymbal, you might like it, tooAnd, as I said, I think it's really great looking, and, you could probably get one, or more, of these just for it's home decor, "wall art" potential. (I already have a couple of Crash and Ride Cymbals on my Studio wall...)Makes a great gift idea!

Tooth marks all around the edges from the machines used to perform the work. Sharp edges on the center mounting hole will have to be ground down and finished so as to avoid cutting into or scratching other hardware (or skin!)Besides, it sounds horrible.

This is my second splash cymbal of this type, and no, the headline's not a typo. Let's run down the pros and cons:-- Unlike my last "quiet" splash, this one is at least quiet (that one wasn't).-- It's also a lighter weight, and has a faster decay.-- However, unlike a conventional splash -- quick attack, trashy decay -- this one is still a bit more "ringy" than you'd expect. That said, it still gets a decent rating for me, personally. Here's the thing: if I was only going to use this for its intended purpose, it kinda-sorta falls short (if you just need something quiet to whack, it's not awful in that respect, and at least responds like a cymbal of *some* sort should). However, like the other one, it has a unique sound in its own right, and it's also not half bad as part of a quiet-ish trash stack with the other. If your expectations are reasonable (read: suitably low) for the price, you may find a use for it too.

I'm not your typical drummer so I built my own jam kit and I use these as hi hats. Cool sound.
