double and triple checked on known good micrometers and calipers...it's not quite an inch...and from the side while it's kind of close it is not what they claim...don't waste your money.

This is a very affordable calibration rod, however it is made cheaply and that shows in the fact that multiple instruments show that it isn't exactly the right length. Supposed to be 25mm even. It actually measures 25.02mm (or, 0.9850 inches). It also doesn't appear that the ends are *exactly* parallel. Very, very close, but not quite exact. Still, the differences here are not important so long as you measure it first with a properly calibrated device, recording the temperature you made the measurement at, and simply store that information with the rod.
