About this item

  • ✅INCLUDE: The 25pcs of M35 cobalt steel twist drill bits: 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, 4.8mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, 7.5mm, 8.0mm, 8.5mm, 9mm, 10mm, 10.5mm, 11mm, 11.5mm, 12mm, 12.5mm, 13mm. Organized in a sturdy metal storage case for easy transport to your workplace.
  • ✅MADE FROM HIGH-SPEED STEEL AND 5% COBALT: Manufactured from M35 cobalt steel, with molybdenum and cobalt added to creates a hardened alloy, measuring Rockwell hardness up to 67, extremely heat resistant; for much faster cutting and extra longer life span, with up to twelve times when compared with an average HSS drill bit.
  • ✅135°SPLIT POINT - the 135°quick-cut split point are self-centering and able to penetrate metals quickly with less pressure, prevent bits from "walking and wanding". Easy cutting without need of center punch.
  • ✅CAN BE REPEATEDLY SHARPENED AS NEEDED: LudoPam cobalt drill bit's hardness is uniform throughout the entire material, so that can be repeatedly sharpened without damaging the cutting edge allowing it to drill more than hss drill bits
  • ✅APPLICATION: Best used for drilling in hard metal, including stainless steel, cast iron, hard plastics and woods.

Product Description

Cobalt Drill Bits

m35 Cobalt Drill Bit Set

  • HSS with 5% cobalt provides hardness for wear resistance.
  • 135-Degree split points are self-centering for reduced thrust and easier penetration.
  • Stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloy, titanium alloy, hard plastics and woods, and also can be used for softer materials.

M35 Cobalt Drill Bit Set

A nice-to-have meric size bit set for repeated drilling in metals

  • Cobalt drill bits are not made of pure cobalt, but rather a steel alloy with 5 percent cobalt. The 5-percent alloy is known as M35 grade.
  • Cobalt drill bits are a dull gold color, golden coating is corrosion resistant and increases the hardness of the drill bits.
  • They are made of quality materials, cobalt drill bits tend to stay sharper longer than other types of bits.
  • With cobalt drill bits often being used in much tougher conditions, you will need to sharpen yours every now and then.

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

135 Degree Split Point

The bits have a self-centering 135-degree split point that penetrates hard material without a pilot hole and produces small chips to reduce clogging.

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

Twist Drill Bit Body

High-efficiency spiral chip groove can remove chips with high-speed operation to effectively prevent chip accumulation.

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

Straight Shank

The straight shank design allows the drill bits for steel to be securely fastened and precision-finished.

Read Warm Tips Before Use

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

Stay Cool

  • Friction between bit and metal will accumulate an amount of heat.
  • It's necessary to use cooling liquid during drilling to keep the bit cool. Otherwise, the bit may fry(melt) or only last a short time.
  • It's both ok to use lubricant oil and to pour water.

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

Be Vertical

  • Keep the drill bit vertical with the stuff's surface to be drilled.
  • Tilted bit is prone to break during drilling.
  • Be sure to make both the bit and the workpiece stable.

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

Do It Slow

  • Drilling metal requires low RPM. Please use a device of which the drilling speed can be adjusted.
  • Be careful when you use an electric drill. The RPM could be set too high.
  • The thicker the bit, the slower speed should be.

Cobalt Drill Bit Set

Right Drilling Device

  • To avoid breaking, 1/16” and smaller bits are suggested to be used with a pin vise
  • Thick metals are recommended to be drilled with drill press, which is more stable, and adjustable
  • To have the best performance, you shouldn't drill deeper than 1/2 of the drill bits' fluting length

Nice bit set. Neither Home Depot or Lowes carries anything like this in metric.

I needed to make a 23/64-inch hole in a sheet of stainless steel. The closest size that I could find was 3/8-inch which is 24/64-inch or 1/64-inch too large. These drill bits came in the 23/64-inch size that I needed and the price was most reasonable.

Work really well, seem to be actual Cobalt pieces (its not that hard to produce I think?) for metal drilling projects, have worked quite well, including some (1/2 thick) steel that I couldn't penetrate with other bits. Seem to have stayed sharp, need lots of pressure (press or clamp) to get through steel, pleased with bits even if the kit is a little bit on the small side of drill bits.

I was having issues with my new bits. They seemed to be smaller than my other bits that have worked great for years, so I measured the diameter on them and found out they were NOT true 1/16" bits! The first picture of 1.52mm is the bits I have used for years. The second 1.41mm picture is of these bits which are advertised as 1/16", but are not. DO NOT BUY!

So umm these are like decent? I bought a 10 pack of 5/64in expecting to kill one per hole in concrete. Since they weren't designed for it and a Titanium one didn't even make a full hole. Also I was using hammer mode.I only used 2 bits the first one managed 3.5 holes! Replacing the one I originally killed ive still got 7 left. I plan on buying these when I need replacements going forward. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend, I was burning up HSS bits trying to drill through SS so I could tap it for 2-56 screws, and after wasting other drill bits I decided to try these. It stayed sharp and drilled through material that 10 other drill bits couldn’t. Extremely good value, the cobalt really works!!!

I have to remove about a thousand screws from my deck. The screws are about 25 years old and are in pretty sad shape. Only about 30% of them were coming out with just a driver bit. The drive hole of the rest are stripped and are needing additional effort to extract them. While attempting this with this bit, some of the screws were driven further into the wood when the bit caught a bite in the head. That's not the direction I wanted them to go. I wound up buying a left handed bit.I believe the screws have a #2 square drive hole. An 1/8" bit tends to grab the sides of the drive hole. That usually causes the drill bit to break. Even if it's made of Cobalt. So, I'm using a 7/64 and I'm attempting to shave just a few microns of metal from the bottom of the drive hole. That's enough to give the drive bit more of the shoulders to grab onto but not enough to cause the screw head to pop off.The first 100 or so screws, that I tried extracting with this drill bit, went very well. I had to apply very little pressure to the drill to remove the thin layer of steal from the drive hole. Some time around screw 100, I started having to apply additional pressure. By inspection, I could see that that cutting edges had become dull.Having said that... it's hard to tell what caused them to become dull. There was a lot of grit and debris in the drive holes. Anyone who knows anything about cutting edges will tell you that sand and grit... while they seem soft at a macro level, they are boulders in the micro arena and nothing will dull an edge faster than a little sand and grit. In hindsight, I probably should have taken care and cleaned out the drive holes before attempting to drill them out.Considering everything, this drill bit held up very well although I will probably buy more left handed bits to finish the project.
